18 November: T-shirts and Ribbons in Red-White-Red

How much do printed T-shirts for 18 November cost, how long does production take, when to order in time for Lāčplēsis Day, and how to get the right shade of crimson.

Printed T-shirts and ribbons in red-white-red tones with Latvian symbolism

If you're planning 18 November T-shirts for your team, school or club, place your order by 31 October — the standard production time is 5–10 business days after artwork approval, depending on the technology and quantity. For Lāčplēsis Day (11 November, Tuesday), the safe last date is 24 October. The approximate price for a T-shirt with single-position printing starts at around 12 EUR per piece for small batches and drops to 5.50–7 EUR if you order 100 or more (prices excl. VAT).

When to order to make it in time

The first half of November is the busiest period of the year — flags, posters, and T-shirts for school events and torch processions are all being prepared at once. The closer it gets to 11 November, the fewer free slots remain for screen printing jobs.

We can take on urgent jobs by arrangement — sometimes small-batch DTF printing can be prepared faster, but we always confirm this individually rather than promising it automatically.

Which printing technology to choose

Screen printing

Cost-effective from 50 pieces upward if the design has 1–3 colours. A flag motif with two stripes and text is exactly such a case. A separate screen is prepared for each colour, so setup costs are less favourable for small batches, but at 100+ pieces the price per piece is the lowest available on the market.

DTF (film transfer)

Suitable from 1 piece upward, for full-colour designs, photos and gradients. Ideal if you need 15 different surnames or years on 15 T-shirts. Wash resistance at 40–60 degrees is good as long as you turn the garment inside out before washing.

Embroidery

For sweatshirts, jackets and caps — crimson and white thread on dark fabric looks neat and durable. A red-white-red stripe can be embroidered up to 8 cm wide; larger areas become expensive and heavy.

Approximate prices

Prices include a cotton T-shirt (140–180 g/m²) and single-position printing, excl. VAT.

The red-white-red shade: how to avoid getting it wrong

The red of the Latvian flag is crimson — dark, with a brownish-violet undertone, not bright red. In digital printing CMYK, it's achieved at approximately C0 M100 Y60 K40; the closest Pantone match in practice is around 201 C. Bright red (M100 Y100) looks instantly wrong, and it shows in event photos.

A few practical points:

  • On dark fabric, DTF and screen printing place a white base layer under the colour, otherwise the shade turns muddy. We account for this already at the quote stage.
  • On grey melange fabric, crimson visually appears lighter — if the exact shade is critical, choose a white, black or dark blue T-shirt instead.
  • If an event involves T-shirts, posters and banners all at once, we match the colour across materials — fabric and PVC respond to colour differently.

Ribbons, badges and other regalia

The classic red-white-red ribbon is a satin ribbon cut into 12–15 cm lengths for pinning on. On wider ribbons (from 20 mm), an organisation's logo can be added with DTF transfer — this is agreed separately, since the area is narrow and the design needs to be simplified.

In terms of budget, these solutions are chosen most often:

  • Round stickers with a flag motif, 40–50 mm diameter, contour cut — from approximately 0.10 EUR/pc in larger quantities. See stickers.
  • Printed mugs for school and municipal events — from approximately 6 EUR/pc.
  • PVC banners and roll-up stands for procession and commemoration event venues — banners.
  • Tote bags for participant packs with single-colour screen printing.

Preparing your files

Send your logo and design as vector graphics: .ai, .eps or .pdf, text converted to outlines, colours in CMYK. A raster image for printing should be at least 300 dpi at actual size — an A3 banner won't come out well from a social media image.

If you don't have a design, project manager Madara can prepare the artwork based on your idea; a simple T-shirt design usually takes 1 business day. Before production, we always send the artwork for approval — we only proceed after receiving a written "yes".

Frequently asked questions

What's the minimum order quantity for T-shirts?

We work with orders of just 1 piece if DTF printing is used. For screen printing, the practical minimum is 20–30 pieces, since screen preparation makes each T-shirt more expensive in small batches.

Will you make it in time if I order on 5 November?

For DTF printing up to 30 pieces, usually yes, if the artwork is ready and the T-shirts are in stock. For screen printing in large quantities — rarely. Write or call us, and we'll check the options for that particular week.

How should I wash the T-shirt so the print lasts?

Wash it turned inside out, up to 40 degrees, without bleach, and don't iron directly over the print. This way, DTF and screen printing withstand 40–50 washes.

Can you print a different name or number on each T-shirt?

Yes, with DTF technology, personalisation doesn't cost extra if the base design stays the same. Send the list of names in an Excel or Google Sheets file.

Do you also make flags?

We produce photo banners and PVC banners, as well as roll-up stands for event venues. For fabric flags with special dimensions, we agree on terms individually.
