Notebooks with Logo: A5 Hardcover, Softcover, Recycled Paper

A guide to notebooks with logo printing: how hardcover and softcover differ, when to choose recycled paper, which printing techniques to use, and how long an order takes.

A5 notebooks with logo printing — hardcover and softcover together

Notebooks with logo printing are one of the most practical promotional products: the A5 format covers around 90% of requests. Hardcover notebooks from our catalogue start at roughly EUR 4.50/pc (excl. VAT, from 50 pcs), while softcover and recycled paper options start at roughly EUR 1.80/pc. The standard turnaround is 5–10 business days, with rush orders available by arrangement. For printing we use screen printing, pad printing, digital printing, embossing or hot foil stamping – the choice depends on the cover material.

How hardcover and softcover notebooks differ

Hardcover notebooks have a cardboard core with a cover – imitation leather, paper or plastic. They hold up better in a bag, don't bend, and look more like a gift than a handout item. Hardcover is the logical choice for client gifts, conference sets and employee onboarding boxes.

Softcover notebooks are lighter, thinner and noticeably cheaper. They work well for events, seminars, and school or municipal projects where you need large quantities at a reasonable price. Paper and cardboard covers have another advantage: they can be printed in full colour across the entire surface, not just a single logo spot.

When to choose recycled paper

Recycled paper notebooks are popular with companies that have an environmental policy, with municipal projects, and with EU-funded events that need to report on the origin of materials. Keep in mind that a recycled paper cover is greyer and rougher, so full-colour photos look duller on it – single-colour screen printing, pad printing or embossing works better.

Printing techniques and where they fit

  • Screen printing – single- or two-colour logos on imitation leather, paper and PP covers. The colour is dense and durable, a good choice for larger quantities.
  • Pad printing – small logos and fine text on uneven or small surfaces (for example, the A7 format).
  • Embossing/debossing – a colourless logo pressed into the cover. Looks understated and premium, works well on imitation leather and recycled paper.
  • Hot foil stamping – gold or silver foil; effective on dark hardcovers.
  • Digital printing and full-colour lithography – full-colour images and gradients, including full-cover printing for the Desk-Mate® range.
  • Digital sticker and domed sticker – a fast solution for small quantities and complex logos.

Prices are indicative, excl. VAT, with single-colour printing in one location. The exact price depends on quantity, model, number of colours and printing technique – full-colour lithography across the whole cover changes the calculation significantly. For small quantities, set-up costs are spread over fewer pieces, so from 100 pcs the price usually drops by 25–35%.

Files and turnaround

Please submit your logo as vector artwork – .ai, .eps or .pdf, with CMYK or Pantone colours. Screen printing and pad printing need a single-colour outline without gradients; for full-colour cover printing, we need artwork with at least a 3 mm bleed area. If you only have a .jpg or .png file, we can redraw the logo in vector format for an extra fee.

Once the artwork is approved, the standard turnaround is 5–10 business days; full-colour lithography for large quantities can take up to 10 business days. Before production, we send you a digital proof showing the print location and dimensions – we only start production after your written approval.

What to combine notebooks with in a set

The most commonly ordered combination is a notebook plus a pen plus a tote bag. If you're putting together a conference or anniversary set, we can match the colour with mugs, thermal bottles or T-shirts within the same order, and also print stickers and cards for the set – see the full range of printing services in our shop.

FAQ

What's the minimum quantity for notebooks with a logo?

We also work with small quantities – from 10–25 pcs depending on the model and printing technique. Digital printing and stickers have a lower minimum than screen printing, since no screen forms need to be made.

How much does an A5 notebook with a logo cost?

Softcover models start at roughly EUR 1.80/pc (from 300 pcs), hardcover – from roughly EUR 4.50/pc. Prices are excl. VAT and indicative; we calculate the exact amount based on the model, quantity and number of print colours.

Can the whole cover be printed, not just a logo?

Yes, the Desk-Mate® range and the Novella Austen Colours model are available with full-colour lithography, which allows printing the entire front cover, and the back cover on some models too. Full-surface printing is limited on hard plastic covers.

How does printing work on recycled paper?

Recycled paper absorbs more ink, so colours look slightly duller and greyer than on white paper. The best results come from single-colour screen printing, pad printing or colourless embossing.

How long will it take to receive my order?

Usually 5–8 business days from artwork approval; full-colour printing for large quantities can take up to 10 business days. If you need a shorter deadline, get in touch – we handle rush orders by arrangement.
