Fast Leaflet Printing: 2,000 A6 Leaflets for a Promotion in 3 Business Days
Case study: 2,000 A6 leaflets for a retail promotion, prepared and delivered in 3 business days. Timeline, materials, file requirements and indicative prices.

Fast leaflet printing is genuinely achievable: we produced and delivered 2,000 A6 format four-page leaflets (an A5 sheet with one fold) to a client in 3 business days — the order was confirmed at midday on Monday, and the finished product was in the warehouse by Wednesday afternoon. The standard lead time for this kind of job is 5–7 business days, but if the file is print-ready and the material is in stock, the schedule can be compressed to three days. As a rough guide, this print run on 170 g/m² matt coated paper with full-colour printing on both sides costs from around EUR 0.14 per piece excl. VAT.
Task and context
The client — a retail company with several shops in Riga and the surrounding area — was planning a two-week seasonal promotion. The leaflets were meant to be displayed at checkouts and handed out with purchases, so a small, easy-to-hold format was chosen. The promotion's start date was fixed, but the price list was only approved on Friday evening, leaving three business days for printing.
We're publishing details of this specific job with the client's written consent, but without the company name or images of the promotional prices — we always agree on how a name or images may be used before publishing anything.

A four-page A6 leaflet on 170 g/m² paper is a practical choice: sturdy enough not to bend into a heap at the till, yet still flexible enough to fold without cracking. If there's more text to fit, we produce the same A6 format as an eight-page leaflet from an A4 sheet with two folds — in that case, 130–150 g/m² paper is recommended, otherwise the fold line becomes rough.
Day-by-day timeline
Day 1 — quote, file, on-screen proof
In the morning, the client sent an artwork file exported from InDesign. We prepared a specific quote with two paper options and two print runs (2,000 and 3,000 pcs) so the price difference would be clear. Once approved, we checked the files: the 3 mm bleed was missing, one logo was in RGB, and some text sat only 2 mm from the cut line. We corrected these ourselves and sent the PDF for approval by 4 p.m.
Day 2 — printing and folding
Printing took place in the morning, after which the sheets rested for about two hours to let the ink settle, and only then were they folded and cut. We never skip this step — freshly printed coated paper can smudge at the fold line. During quality control, we checked 10 pieces from each stack: fold accuracy, colour match against the approved proof, and cut dimensions.
Day 3 — packing and delivery
The leaflets were packed in batches of 250 pcs, each batch labelled so that shop managers could split the stock without having to count it out themselves. Delivery in Riga took place in the afternoon; the client also collected part of the order directly from Kandavas iela 29A.
Indicative prices
Below are indicative prices for a four-page A6 leaflet (A5 with one fold) on 170 g/m² matt coated paper, full colour on both sides, excl. VAT. The exact price depends on print run, number of pages, paper and finishing.
| Print run | Indicative EUR/pc | Indicative total |
|---|---|---|
| 250 pcs | from 0.38 | from EUR 95 |
| 500 pcs | from 0.28 | from EUR 140 |
| 1,000 pcs | from 0.19 | from EUR 190 |
| 2,000 pcs | from 0.14 | from EUR 280 |
| 5,000 pcs | from 0.09 | from EUR 450 |
For an eight-page A6 leaflet, the per-piece price is roughly 1.6–1.8 times higher, as it involves a second fold and a larger sheet. For urgent jobs completed within 2–3 business days, a rush fee may apply, which we agree in advance — though in most cases a well-planned schedule makes a rush fee unnecessary.
What speeds the job up and what slows it down
- Speeds it up: a print-ready PDF with a 3 mm bleed, CMYK colours, text in vector format or with embedded fonts, a standard format, and paper already in stock.
- Slows it down: RGB images or resolution below 300 dpi, Word or Canva files without bleed, unconfirmed text content, non-standard paper with a 3–5 day ordering time, and waiting for approval from several people on the client's side.
- Needs separate planning: varnishing, foil stamping or die-cutting — this kind of finishing adds 1–3 business days.
If a physical colour proof is needed before the full run, that requires an extra day, so within a three-day schedule we usually replace it with a print sample on the same paper on the day the order is placed.
What else is ordered alongside leaflets
For this promotion, the client also ordered A3 posters for the shops and price-tag stickers on matt self-adhesive film. When all materials are produced together, the colours match across the board — which is especially noticeable with the reds and oranges typical of promotional pricing. You'll find leaflets, flyers and cards in the business cards and digital printing section, posters in the posters section, and our full range of services in the catalogue.

What file format should I submit?
A PDF with a 3 mm bleed on each side, in CMYK colour space, images at a minimum of 300 dpi, and text in vector format or with embedded fonts. We also accept .ai and .eps files. Text and logos should be kept at least 5 mm from the cut line.
