Graduation T-shirts and School Gifts: 2025 Season Guide

How much do graduation T-shirts cost, what deadlines to plan for in May and June, and what to choose as a class gift — a practical guide with indicative prices.

A group of students wearing matching graduation T-shirts with a list of classmates' names

Graduation T-shirts for Year 12 or a university cohort in Latvia usually cost around 12–22 EUR per piece excl. VAT, for an order of 15–30 shirts with single-sided printing. The busiest period is late April and May, so the realistic production time is 5–10 business days from design approval — it's best to submit your order at least two weeks before the graduation date. We also work with single pieces, but from 20 units the price per shirt drops by 20–35%.

Which printing technique to choose for graduation

The choice depends on the number of colours in the design and the order volume. For class T-shirts with 25–30 names on the back, DTF transfer is almost always the more cost-effective option, as a list of names involves a lot of small detail.

TechniqueSuitable forMinimum quantityIndicative printing price
DTF (digital transfer)Full-colour designs, name lists, photos1 pcfrom 4 EUR/location
Screen printing1–3 colour logos, large volumesfrom 30 pcsfrom 1.80 EUR/location
EmbroideryPolo shirts, caps, jacketsfrom 10 pcsfrom 5.50 EUR/location

If you're ordering 40 or more shirts for a class with a single-colour print, screen printing costs considerably less, but a separate screen printing frame is made for each colour — set-up costs around 15–25 EUR per colour. For small groups, this fee doesn't pay off.

What's most often ordered for graduation

Graduate T-shirts and sweatshirts

The most popular choice for Year 9 and Year 12: a small class or school logo on the front, the graduation year printed large on the back, with all students' names underneath. University cohorts often order hoodies with the faculty name and surname on the sleeve. Individual names can be printed at no extra charge for a separate file, as long as all names are submitted in one list.

Gifts for teachers and homeroom teachers

The most practical and most frequently ordered items from our catalogue:

  • ceramic mugs with a class photo or drawing, approx. 350–400 ml, full-colour print;
  • thermal mugs that change the image with heat — a great gift idea with a "before and after" photo;
  • steel thermal bottles 400–500 ml with an engraved or printed name;
  • water bottles 500–750 ml with the school logo;
  • cotton bags or shopping totes with a class drawing;
  • A5 notebooks with a printed cover, and pens with a logo;
  • towels with embroidered monogram.

See the mug options in the mugs section, or browse a wider range of gifts in the promotional products catalogue.

Printed materials for the event

Graduation events usually also require invitations, programmes, greeting cards and a photo backdrop banner. Invitation printing on 300 g card starts at around 0.45 EUR per piece for 100 pcs, a 2x2 m photo banner — from around 60 EUR. A roll-up banner stand with the school logo lasts for several years and costs from around 120 EUR.

Deadlines in May and June

During the season, the schedule fills up quickly. Realistic deadlines for May 2025:

ProductStandard deadline
T-shirts, sweatshirts (DTF)5–7 business days
Screen printing, embroidery7–10 business days
Mugs, thermal mugs5–10 business days
Invitations, cards, posters3–5 business days
Banners, roll-up stands3–5 business days

We can take on urgent jobs by separate agreement — in some cases we can shorten the deadline if the size and model are in stock. The closer to early June, the less likely it is that we can complete an order faster than the standard deadline, so the first half of May is the last convenient time.

How to prepare files and a size list

The design needs to be vector graphics (.ai, .eps, .pdf) in CMYK colour mode. If the design is a raster image, the minimum resolution is 300 dpi at the actual print size. Please send the name list as text, not as an image, so we can check diacritics and spelling.

Along with the file, please submit a size list — how many S, M, L, XL etc., and whether a women's or men's cut is needed. We recommend trying out a sample size set in class before ordering; otherwise, exchanges during the season are complicated. We send a digital artwork proof for approval before production, and the order is only sent into production after written confirmation.

How to cut costs in the class budget

  • One print location instead of two saves 3–5 EUR per shirt.
  • A single colour in screen printing for large volumes is the cheapest option from 40 pieces upwards.
  • A uniform design without individual names reduces preparation time.
  • Combine several classes into one order — quantities add up, the price drops.
  • A standard cotton T-shirt, 150–160 g/m², is perfectly sufficient for a graduation photo shoot.
