Jackets with Logo: Softshell and Fleece Embroidery Guide
A practical guide to ordering softshell and fleece jackets with a logo: materials, embroidery sizes, indicative prices and lead times of 5–10 business days.

Jackets with a logo are most often ordered with embroidery rather than printing — embroidery withstands 50+ washes, doesn't crack, and looks considerably better than heat transfer film on softshell or fleece texture. A standard chest logo (7–9 cm wide, roughly 6,000–10,000 stitches) costs approximately 4–6 EUR per piece excl. VAT, plus a one-off file preparation (digitising) fee from 20 EUR. Production time is usually 5–10 business days after artwork approval — depending on quantity and stock availability.
Softshell or fleece — which to choose
The difference is simple: fleece keeps you warm, softshell protects you. A fleece jacket (250–300 g/m² polyester) is light, breathable and suited to office teams, conferences, indoor events and as a mid-layer. A softshell jacket is a three-layer material with a windproof membrane and a soft inner side — it holds up against wind and light rain, making it suitable for construction, service teams, sports clubs and outdoor events.
If a team works outdoors all year round, the most practical solution is a combination: a fleece jacket under a softshell, or a separate insulated jacket for winter.
Material comparison
| Type | Weight / structure | Wind and rain | Best for | Embroidery complexity |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fleece | 250–300 g/m² polyester | No | Office, events, mid-layer | Light, needs a stabiliser |
| Softshell | 3 layers, ~300–320 g/m² | Wind – yes, light rain – yes | Outdoor work, sports, services | Medium, care needed with membrane |
| Insulated jacket | Polyester + filling | Yes | Winter, logistics, construction sites | Medium, needs backing |
| Parka | Padded, longer | Yes | Extended work in cold | Higher, thick construction |

Where to place the logo and how big it can be
Embroidery placement is determined by the jacket's construction — seams, pockets and lining limit the frame size.
| Location | Recommended size | Typical stitch count |
|---|---|---|
| Left chest | 7–9 cm wide | 6,000–10,000 |
| Upper sleeve | 5–7 cm | 4,000–7,000 |
| Upper back | 20–25 cm | 15,000–30,000 |
| Collar or hood edge | 4–6 cm | 3,000–5,000 |
Fine text below 4 mm in height blurs together in embroidery — in that case we either suggest simplifying the logo or using DTF transfer for a large back print. For softshell with a membrane, we don't recommend large back embroidery: too many needle holes reduce water resistance. For back logos, garment printing with DTF or transfer film works better.

The exact price depends on the model, colour, quantity and embroidery complexity. Digitising (converting a logo into an embroidery file) is a one-off fee — it's not charged again on repeat orders. We also work with single-piece orders, though in that case the one-off file preparation makes up most of the cost.
Files and process
Please send your logo as vector graphics: .ai, .eps or .pdf with outlined curves. We can also work from JPG or PNG if the resolution is at least 300 dpi with a transparent background, but redrawing takes extra time. We match thread colours to your brand tones — the embroidery thread palette isn't CMYK, so we choose the closest match and confirm it with you before production.
- Send us your logo, model, colours and size breakdown.
- Receive a quote within one business day.
- We prepare the embroidery file and a visual for approval (1–2 days).
- Once approved — a sample embroidery on the actual material, if the order exceeds 30 pieces.
- Production takes 5–10 business days; urgent jobs by arrangement.
We recommend confirming the size breakdown with a sample set — softshell is usually slightly narrower than fleece, and sizing one size up works well if the jacket will be worn over a sweater. See other printing services in the catalogue.
Frequently asked questions
Does embroidery damage the water resistance of a softshell jacket?
A standard chest logo up to 10,000 stitches has no practical effect on the jacket's performance — a backing material is used at the embroidery site to reinforce the needle holes. We don't recommend large back embroidery on membrane materials; DTF printing works better there.
How long does it take to get jackets with a logo?
Usually 5–10 business days from artwork approval, provided the chosen model and sizes are in stock. For large orders over 200 pieces, lead time may be longer; urgent jobs are handled by arrangement.
What's the minimum order quantity?
There's no minimum — we can produce even a single jacket. However, the one-off file preparation fee from 20 EUR is spread across the whole run, so from 10 pieces onwards the price per unit becomes significantly more favourable.
Can you embroider on jackets supplied by the client?
Yes, we also work with client-supplied materials. In this case we ask for one jacket as a sample and note that we take responsibility for any damage caused by unexpected lining or membrane issues only after the sample has been checked.
Can men's and women's models be combined in one order?
Yes. For example, the Artic fleece jacket and Finland insulated jacket are available in both cuts in matching colours, so the team looks consistent while everyone gets the right fit.
Send us your logo and approximate quantity to info@attaprint.lv or WhatsApp +371 25776699 — project manager Madara will prepare a quote within one business day. We're located at Kandavas iela 29A, Riga, where you're also welcome to view material samples in person.
