Folders with Logo for Documents: A4 Format, Pockets, Elastic Band
A practical guide to ordering A4 folders with logo: construction, pockets, elastic band fastening, cardboard thickness, indicative prices per quantity, and artwork requirements.

A standard folder with logo for documents is an A4 presentation folder with an inner pocket of 220×310 mm, made from 300–350 g/m² cardboard with full-colour (CMYK) printing and matte or gloss lamination. As a guide, at 100 pcs such a folder costs from approximately 2.10 EUR/pc excl. VAT, at 500 pcs — from approximately 1.05 EUR/pc, with a production time of 3–5 business days. If you need a ready-made solution without die-cutting, our catalogue also includes sewn folders and document portfolios with printing, for example, Nomumi A4 folder from 16.16 EUR/pc at 100 pcs.
Which folders to choose: printed cardboard folder or a ready-made folder from the catalogue
Offices usually face two scenarios. The first is presenting documents, contracts or quotes to clients, where the folder is a one-off representational item. For this, a printed cardboard folder with a pocket works well: cheap at larger quantities, full-colour design across the whole surface, and easy to update for the next print run.

The second is a folder that a person uses for a long time: for a sales team, seminars, or work sites. In this case, a sewn or PU/fabric folder with a notepad, pen holder, and an elastic band or magnetic closure is more suitable, with the logo applied using screen printing, DTF transfer, or embroidery. These folders cost more but last for years.
Construction: pockets, elastic band, business card slot
Pockets
- One pocket on the right side — the most common option, holds 15–25 sheets of 80 g/m² paper.
- Two pockets (on both sides) — convenient if documents need to be separated, for example, a quote and technical specification.
- Gusseted pocket — expands to 5–10 mm thickness, suitable for thicker document sets and catalogues.
Fastenings
- Elastic band fastening — an elastic strap at the corners or vertically along the spine; keeps the folder closed without damaging the paper. The elastic colour can be matched to your brand style.
- Business card slot — a cut-out in the pocket for a 90×50 mm card; a practical solution when handing the folder to a client at a meeting.
- Flap with adhesive strip or tab closure — when the folder needs to be sent by post or carried outside.
- Euro-hole perforation — if the documents will later be placed in a binder.
For the elastic band and slot, the folder needs its own die-cutting form. We have several standard forms with no extra charge for the form; for a custom construction, the form costs approximately 60 to 120 EUR as a one-off fee.
Materials and finishing
For printed folders, we recommend 300–350 g/m² cardboard. 250 g/m² is too soft and the corners bend quickly, while 400 g/m² is sturdy but may crack at fold lines, so scoring and lamination are mandatory for it.

| Finish | What it provides | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Matte lamination | No glare, pleasant to the touch | The most common choice for office folders |
| Gloss lamination | More vivid colours | Fingerprints are visible |
| Soft-touch lamination | Velvety surface | ~15–25% more expensive than matte |
| Partial UV varnish | Highlights the logo or graphic element | Works best on matte lamination |
| No lamination | Cheaper, can be written on with a pen | Dark colours crack at fold lines |
Dark, solid-coloured background areas (black, dark blue) look good visually but show scratches — in such cases lamination is mandatory.
Indicative prices by quantity
Prices excl. VAT, A4 folder with pocket, 350 g/m² cardboard, 4+0 printing, matte lamination, die-cutting and gluing included. The exact price depends on quantity, construction, and finish.

Artwork preparation
A printed folder requires artwork laid out flat (on the die line), in CMYK, with a 3 mm bleed on all sides and text no closer than 5 mm from the cut line. Logos and text — in vector graphics (.ai, .eps, .pdf, .svg), photos — at least 300 dpi. We send the die line once the construction has been chosen.
For ready-made folders and portfolios from the catalogue, a vector-format logo and colour specification (Pantone or CMYK) are sufficient. The printing area is usually 80×60 to 200×150 mm depending on the model, and up to 90×90 mm for embroidery.
Timelines
We produce printed cardboard folders with die-cutting and gluing in 3–5 business days from artwork approval. Folders and portfolios from the catalogue with printing usually take 6–10 business days (production 4–7 business days + delivery 2–3 days). Urgent jobs are handled by arrangement.
Frequently asked questions
How many sheets fit in an A4 folder with a pocket?
A standard pocket without gussets safely holds 15–25 sheets of 80 g/m² paper. If the set includes a catalogue or 40+ sheets, choose a gusseted pocket, which expands to 5–10 mm.
What is the minimum quantity for printed folders with a logo?
We produce from as few as 10–50 pcs using digital printing, though the price per piece is higher then. The most cost-effective threshold starts from 250–500 pcs.
Is there an extra charge for the elastic band fastening?
Yes, the elastic band requires additional perforation and manual assembly work — approximately +0.25 to 0.50 EUR/pc depending on quantity. If the construction is not standard, a one-off die-cutting form fee also applies.
Can the folder be printed with just a logo on the front?
Yes. 1+0 printing on uncoloured or design cardboard is the cheapest option and often looks cleaner than a full-colour background. In this case, lamination is not mandatory.
How to combine the folder with other materials?
The most common set is a folder, notebook, pen, and business card. For conferences, a bag is added, for example, Florida or Detroit RPET. In the quote, we specify the price for each item separately so you can choose the scope of the set.
Will I be able to see how my logo will look on the folder?
Yes. We include artwork with the quote and, on request, a 3D view with your logo; production starts only after approval by email. You can view our previous work in the our work section.
Send us the required quantity, construction, and logo to info@attaprint.lv or message us on WhatsApp +371 25776699 — we prepare a quote with prices, print area, and timeline within one business day.
