Grocery Store Posters, Stickers and Logo Bags: A Guide

How a grocery store can order promotional posters, shelf labels, ingredient stickers and logo shopping bags – timelines, materials and approximate prices.

Jute 300 g/m² shopping bag, 12 l

Grocery store posters are printed at our facility in formats from A4 to A0 and are usually ready within 1–3 business days; A3 promotional price posters are most economical to print in batches of 10–20 pcs. We produce stickers for shelf labelling and ingredient lists both as sheets and rolls, including contour cutting, while cotton and jute shopping bags with a store logo start from EUR 2.40/pc for a batch of 100 pcs (excl. VAT). Below is a practical guide to what to order for food retail and what the actual costs look like.

Promotional posters and price tags in store

In a grocery store, a poster has one job – to be readable from 3–5 metres away. In practice, A3 and A2 formats with large digit height and one clear message – price, percentage, product name – work best.

The most commonly ordered options:

  • A4 and A3 promotional posters on 170–250 g/m² paper – for weekly offers, easy to swap every Monday.
  • A2 and A1 posters – for the entrance area, seasonal campaigns, new product launches.
  • A0 posters – for larger stores and window displays.
  • Shelf talkers – narrow 100×70 mm or 150×50 mm formats that attach to the shelf edge.

If you plan to change posters often, we recommend creating one template with a fixed spot for the price and product name – then preparing each new batch takes just a few minutes, with no artwork fee involved. More on formats and paper types: posters.

Stickers: shelf labels, ingredients and translations

In food retail, stickers cover two completely different jobs. The first is in-store labelling (shelf numbers, category labels, "New", "Local producer", expiry markers). The second is product stickers on packaging: ingredients, weight, batch number, allergens, importer details and Latvian translations.

Choosing a material

MaterialSuitable forProperties
Paper stickerDry goods, price and promo labellingCheapest, not moisture-resistant
PP film (white)Fridge packaging, jars, bottlesWithstands condensation and light friction
Clear filmGlass jars, bottles, "no label look"Shows the product through, requires precise artwork
VinylWindows, doors, floor signageDurable, a removable option is available
Metallised filmPremium product linesSilver/gold effect without foil stamping

We produce stickers in sheets (convenient for hand application, small batches) or rolls (if you use an applicator or apply large quantities – a roll saves time). Contour cutting allows for round, oval or free-form stickers, for example round seals for home-made products. More details: sticker printing.

What to keep in mind with ingredient stickers

For ingredient and translation stickers, text legibility matters most – don't go below 6 pt and avoid light text on a light background. If several languages need to fit on one sticker, it's better to increase the sticker size by 5–10 mm rather than shrink the font.

Shopping bags with a store logo

Cotton and jute bags for a store are both a product sold at the checkout and an advert that walks around town. Experience shows that one-colour screen printing on raw cotton or jute looks better and costs less than full-colour printing.

Practical considerations:

  • Density. 140–180 g/m² cotton suits lighter bags, 300 g/m² jute suits heavier purchases (cans, bottles).
  • Size. A 12 l capacity is standard for grocery shopping; smaller 5 l bags work well as a gift bag or bakery bag.
  • Printing. 1-colour screen printing is most cost-effective from 50–100 pcs; DTF transfer suits a multi-colour logo or a small batch.

Prices are approximate – the exact amount depends on quantity, material, number of colours and print locations. In-house printing (stickers, posters, business cards) usually takes 1–3 business days. Promotional products with printing take 6–10 business days: production 4–7 business days plus delivery 2–3 days. Urgent jobs can be arranged by agreement.

How to prepare your files

Send artwork as vector files (.ai, .eps, .pdf, .svg), colours in CMYK, raster images at 300 dpi. For posters, leave a 3 mm bleed and keep important text clear of a 5 mm zone from the cutting line. For stickers, a separate contour layer is useful if shape cutting is needed.

If you don't have artwork, we can design a promotional poster or sticker based on your text and logo – the design fee is always shown in the quote next to each item, so there are no surprises on the invoice. For promotional products, on request we prepare a 3D mock-up with your logo, and the artwork is approved by email before production.

FAQ

How many posters are worth printing for one promotional period?

For an average store, 8–15 A3 posters for shelves and 2–3 A2/A1 posters for the entrance area and window are usually enough. If offers change weekly, it's cheaper to print small batches more often than to stockpile unused posters.

Do stickers withstand moisture in the fridge and freezer?

Paper stickers – no. For cold and condensation, use PP film or clear film – they withstand moisture and keep their adhesion on cool, dry surfaces. For freezer products, the sticker needs to be applied before the product is frozen.

What's the minimum quantity for bags with a logo?

We can print cotton bags even in small quantities, but screen printing becomes cost-effective from 50–100 pcs. Socks with a woven-in logo – from 100 pairs. Stickers and posters are printed from 1 piece.

Can you produce ingredient and translation stickers for local producers?

Yes. We produce ingredient, nutritional value, instruction and translation stickers in sheets or rolls, including variable data such as batch number or weight, if known before printing.

How long does it take to get a quote?

We send a quote within one business day – online and as a PDF with product images, prices, print location, design fee and timeline for each item.

Can you deliver everything in one shipment?

Yes, if the timelines align. Stickers and posters are usually ready in 1–3 business days, while printed bags take 6–10 business days, so we either ship in two parts or deliver everything together.
