School supplies with logo: notebooks, pens and bags for 1 September

A seasonal guide to branded school supplies: realistic prices, minimum quantities, printing methods and timelines so your sets are ready by 1 September.

Pupil's set: A5 notebook, pen and fabric bag with logo

If you need branded school supplies ready by 1 September, your order should be confirmed by the second week of August — the standard turnaround for promotional products with printing is 5–10 business days after artwork approval, depending on the product and quantity. As a rough guide, one pupil's set (A5 notebook, pen and cotton drawstring bag) with single-colour printing in a 100 pcs run costs approximately EUR 4.50–6.00 excl. VAT. Today, 5 August, the schedule is still comfortable, including for embroidery and screen printing with 2–3 colours.

What's typically ordered in August

Schools, parent councils, local authorities and private schools mostly prepare three things in August: first-grader sets, gifts for teachers, and representative items for open days or sports events.

A first-grader set usually includes a notebook, a pen and a bag or tote with the school logo. Teacher gifts often add a lunch box or a desk accessory set. For events, you'll also need stickers with the school emblem, name badges and posters.

Bags and backpacks from our catalogue

A drawstring bag is the simplest and cheapest solution for large runs — perfect for sports kit, indoor shoes and swimming gear.

  • Oregon 140 g/m² cotton drawstring bag, 5 l — 9 colours, screen printing or DTF transfer. A classic for first-grader sets.
  • Odisha 140 g/m² OCS organic cotton drawstring bag, 5 l — 7 colours, also suitable for embroidery in a fixed spot.
  • Eliza 240 g/m² cotton bag with drawstring, 6 l — heavier fabric, more durable for everyday use.
  • Oriole RPET drawstring bag, 5 l — 11 colours, sublimation also available, so the entire surface can be printed.
  • Oriole mesh bag with drawstring, 5 l — 7 colours, handy for sports gear and pool items.
  • Peru Blend 180 g/m² GRS recycled drawstring bag, 5 l and Evergreen GRS recycled non-woven bag, 5 l — an option if the school values a recycled-material angle.
  • Oregon 140 g/m² GRS recycled cotton backpack — 6 colours, shoulder straps rather than just a drawstring.
  • Trend 4-compartment backpack, 17 l — 11 colours, polyethylene terephthalate fabric; suits teaching staff, sports clubs and graduation gifts. Printing options: screen printing, DTF transfer, embroidery and 3D embroidery.

You'll find a wider range of bags in the tote bags and bags section.

Notebooks and pens

Notebooks and pens are two products where the price drops the most with quantity. For notebooks, you can choose either simple cover printing (single-colour logo) or a full-colour cover if the school has a colourful emblem. Pens are usually printed using pad printing in one or two colours; on a metal body, laser engraving is also an option.

A practical note: on a dark body, light-coloured printing always looks more contrasted than the reverse, and very fine elements (such as a website address at 4 pt) can't be printed legibly on a pen clip. The recommended minimum is 5 pt and a simplified logo version.

Lunch boxes and accessories

  • Dovi 800 ml lunch box — 6 colours, screen printing, pad printing or full-colour doming sticker.
  • MIYO POP 700 ml single-layer lunch box — 5 colours, digital printing also available.
  • Mepal Ellipse Mini 300+120 ml lunch box — two compartments, suitable for younger pupils.
  • Mepal Take a Break Bento lunch box, 1500 ml — the largest capacity, more often chosen for teacher gifts.
  • Runa cutlery set with bamboo lid — laser engraving or screen printing, works well as an addition to a lunch box.

In practice, this means: for products to reach the school by 28 August, files need to be submitted no later than 14–17 August. We can accommodate urgent jobs by separate arrangement — some products, such as stickers and posters, can also be completed in 2–5 business days.

Files and print preparation

The best option is vector graphics (.ai, .eps, .pdf) in CMYK colour mode, with text converted to outlines. If the school only has a logo in JPG or PNG format, we'll redraw it as a vector — this usually takes one business day.

If the school also needs stickers with the emblem for marking equipment or for awards, we produce these on matte or gloss self-adhesive vinyl with contour cutting — see the stickers section.

Frequently asked questions

What's the smallest quantity I can order?

We also work with single items, but for promotional products with printing, an economically sensible minimum is 25–50 pcs, since the setup costs for printing (screen printing stencils, artwork adaptation) are spread across the whole run. From 100 pcs upward, the unit price drops by roughly 15–25%.

Can I combine several products in one order?

Yes, and this is the most common approach. For example, 120 notebooks, 120 pens and 120 drawstring bags with the same logo — the amount of setup work decreases, since we adapt the artwork for all products at once.

Which type of printing is most durable on bags?

Screen printing on cotton withstands washing up to 40°C and is the most cost-effective option for logos in 1–2 colours. For multi-colour logos, we use DTF transfer. For backpacks with heavier fabric, embroidery is often chosen — it's more expensive, but visually more durable in the long run.

Can you provide a single sample before the full production run?

Yes. We can produce a printed sample in about 5 business days; its cost is usually higher than the per-unit price in the full run, but we deduct it from the final invoice if the order is confirmed.

Do you work with local authority and school procurement?

Yes, we do. We prepare a quote with line items and prices excl. VAT, as well as a technical description of materials and printing methods that can be included in procurement documentation.

Email us at info@attaprint.lv or call or WhatsApp us at +371 25776699 — let us know the approximate quantity and attach your logo, and we'll prepare a quote within one business day. Project manager Madara will help you choose products that fit your budget and the 1 September schedule.
