Autumn Sports Kits: Team Uniforms and Supporter T-Shirts

Autumn sports kits should be ordered 2-3 weeks before the first match: production usually takes 5-10 business days depending on the product and quantity, plus 2-3 days for artwork approval and collecting sizes from the team. We also work with orders of just 1 piece, so you can top up your set during the season, but larger quantities (from 30-50 pcs) bring the unit price down significantly. In practice, a single order often combines match shirts with numbers alongside supporter T-shirts and hoodies with a simpler logo print.

Match kit vs. supporter T-shirt: two different products

For match kits, breathability and print durability under regular washing matter most. 100% polyester sports shirts work well here: Bahrain 135 g/m² (available in men's, women's and kids' cuts, with up to 150 colours on the men's model), Imola 135 g/m², Montecarlo 150 g/m² (men's and women's) or unisex Indianapolis 140 g/m². For lighter options, such as the Slam 100 g/m² women's shirt, the lower weight and faster drying time make it a good fit for running and athletics groups.

For supporter T-shirts, the priority is look and price, since these are worn on the stands and in everyday life. For autumn, it's worth planning a warmer layer too: the Arora 300 g/m² unisex hoodie is thick and holds up well in windy weather, while the Charon 240 g/m² unisex hoodie (cotton-polyester blend) is lighter and more comfortable for the trip to training. For women wanting a closer fit, the Niagara 145 g/m² cool fit shirt is a good choice.

Fabric weights: what to choose for autumn

For kids' teams, we almost always recommend the Bahrain kids' version - it lets the whole team, including the coach, stay in the same design and colour tone.

Printing technologies: numbers, names, sponsors

• DTF transfer - suitable for printing on polyester sports shirts, multi-colour logos, photographic elements and individual names/numbers. There's no minimum quantity, so it's fine for a batch of 5 or 10 shirts.
• Screen printing - economical from 30-50 pcs, if the design uses 1-3 colours. The best option for large batches of supporter T-shirts.
• Embroidery - for hoodies, jackets and caps; a chest logo up to roughly 8 cm wide looks clean and holds up to long-term use.
• Sublimation - only for light-coloured 100% polyester shirts; the print doesn't form a surface layer.

Approximate prices

The prices below are indicative, excl. VAT, and include the shirt together with printing. The exact price depends on quantity, number of colours and number of print locations.

Kits are often rounded off with sports bottles: H2O Active® Base 650 ml (with spout or flip-top lid, 360° digital printing or screen printing for round surfaces) and Baseline® Plus 500 ml with a flip-top lid. These also work well as tournament prizes - see the promotional products section.

Timelines and planning in late August

If the season starts in the second half of September, the schedule looks like this:

1. Days 1-2 - collecting sizes from players and preparing the artwork.
2. Days 3-4 - artwork approval, confirming colours and print locations.
3. Days 5-14 - production (5-10 business days depending on technology and quantity).

Embroidery and large screen printing batches usually need the longest lead time; DTF batches of up to 30 pcs usually come in closer to the shorter end. We take on urgent jobs by separate arrangement - just let us know the date by which you need the kit, and we'll check what's possible.

Files and practical tips

Send your logo as vector graphics (.ai, .eps, .pdf), with colours in CMYK or with specified Pantone codes. If you only have a JPG or PNG, let us know - we'll redraw it in vector format so the print outlines come out crisp.

A few tips from experience:

• Order 2-3 more shirts than you have players - almost every season, a new member joins along the way.
• When collecting sizes, also note the cut (men's/women's/kids'), not just the letter.
• Plan numbers at least 20 cm tall on the back so they're readable from the stands.
• If the logo is on a dark shirt, check whether there's a light version of it - this saves reworking the artwork.
• Combine kits, hoodies and sweatshirts or jackets in one order so the print matches in tone everywhere.

Frequently asked questions

What's the minimum quantity for sports kits?

There's no minimum - we also make single pieces. However, for DTF printing, the unit price starts dropping significantly from 10-15 pcs, and for screen printing from 30-50 pcs.

How long does it take to get a kit with numbers and names?

Usually 5-10 business days after artwork approval. Individual names and numbers don't extend the turnaround on their own if DTF is used.

Will the print withstand regular washing?

Yes, if washed at up to 40 °C, turned inside out, and not tumble-dried on high heat. Polyester sports shirts don't need to be ironed over the print.

Can I order extra shirts mid-season?

Yes. We keep the artwork and colour data on file, so a repeat order, for example of 3 shirts, is made in the same design. Note that availability of certain colours and sizes may change.

How can I combine team kits and supporter T-shirts in one order?

For match kits, we use polyester shirts with numbers; for supporters, a simpler design on a more affordable model or hoodie. One artwork file, two print versions - this is more convenient and cheaper than two separate orders.
