Thermal Mugs with Logo: Plastic, Steel or Ceramic?
A guide to choosing thermal mugs with a logo for corporate gifts: material comparison, printing technologies, indicative prices and turnaround times.

Thermal mugs with a logo for corporate gifts are most commonly chosen in three materials: plastic (roughly from 4 EUR per piece excl. VAT, full-colour printing, keeps heat for 1–2 hours), stainless steel (from around 12 EUR, vacuum insulation for 4–8 hours, laser engraving) and ceramic (from around 4 EUR, suited for office and café use, no insulation). If the gift is meant for everyday use on the go, stainless steel with vacuum insulation is the most practical choice; if a bright, multi-colour logo in a large quantity matters most, plastic is more cost-effective. The standard production time is 5–10 business days, depending on quantity and printing method.
Three materials and what they actually offer
Plastic
Double-walled plastic thermal mugs (for example, the Americano® 350 ml from our catalogue, available in 41 colours) are the lightest and most affordable option. They keep heat for about an hour, which makes them well suited for conferences, team events and as a mass gift in larger quantities. The main advantage is 360° digital printing, which allows a photo-quality image or a full-colour logo to be printed all around the body.

Stainless steel
Steel mugs with vacuum insulation keep a hot drink warm for 4–8 hours and a cold drink cool for up to 12 hours. They're heavier (300–500 g) and more expensive, but last for years and get genuinely used - which matters if the gift is meant for clients or employees as a long-term brand carrier. Laser engraving on steel doesn't wear off.
Ceramic
A ceramic mug isn't technically a thermal mug - it's an office mug. It's a good choice if you need 50–500 pieces for an event, café or school, and if the print is planned in one or two colours. You can browse ceramic and thermal mug printing options in the mugs and thermal mugs section.

The Evora A5 cork and PU notebook with hot foil stamping or laser engraving is often ordered alongside as a set - a mug plus a notebook is the most typical Christmas or anniversary gift set. See the full range of promotional products in the promotional products with logo section.
How a logo looks on each material
360° digital printing gives the full colour range and gradients - the right choice for multi-colour logos and images on a plastic body. Laser engraving on steel gives a single tone (usually silver or dark, depending on the coating), but is the most durable: it doesn't wear off with washing. Pad printing and screen printing for round surfaces are an economical solution for 1–2 colour logos in medium quantities.
A practical tip: if your logo is multi-colour but you'd prefer steel, choose a model with 360° digital printing available (Camden, Jetta, Cove, Thor), or go for a single-colour engraving - it often looks more refined than a blurred colour print on metal.

Prices are indicative, excl. VAT, and include printing or engraving of one item in one colour. The exact price depends on the model, quantity, number of print areas and number of colours. We also work with single pieces - for example, an engraved mug as an individual gift for an employee.
Turnaround: a standard order takes 5–10 business days from artwork approval. During the Christmas season (November–December), expect longer lead times and order at least 3–4 weeks in advance. Urgent jobs - by arrangement.
File preparation
Please send your logo as vector graphics - .ai, .eps or .pdf, with colours in CMYK or specified as Pantone. Laser engraving requires a single-colour logo with a solid, closed outline; thin elements under 0.3 mm may disappear. High-resolution raster files also work for digital printing, but a vector file always gives a cleaner result. Before production, we send a visualisation with the print area dimensions for your approval.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a thermal mug keep its temperature?
A plastic double-walled mug - about 1–2 hours; a stainless steel vacuum mug - 4–8 hours for a hot drink and up to 12 hours for a cold one. The exact result depends on capacity and how often the lid is opened.
Can a thermal mug with a logo be washed in a dishwasher?
Most thermal mugs - no. The lid and silicone parts can usually go in the dishwasher, but we recommend hand-washing the body with vacuum insulation and printing. Laser engraving isn't affected by washing.
What's the minimum order quantity?
We also work with orders of 1 piece, but the best prices start from 25–50 pieces, and from 100 pieces the printing setup cost per unit decreases as well.
Can a multi-colour logo be printed on a steel mug?
Yes, if the model offers 360° digital printing - for example, Camden, Jetta, Cove or Thor. Other steel models offer laser engraving or pad printing in 1–2 colours.
How long does an order take?
The standard turnaround is 5–10 business days after artwork approval. For larger quantities or several models in one order - up to 3 weeks.
Send us your logo and planned quantity at info@attaprint.lv, call or message us on WhatsApp at +371 25776699 - project manager Madara will prepare a quote with 2–3 suitable models within one business day. Contact details and working hours are available in the contacts section.
