Kitchen items with logo: mugs, boards and aprons — a guide
A practical guide to choosing kitchen items with a logo: mugs, bamboo boards, aprons and lunch boxes, with approximate prices and lead times.

Kitchen items with a logo are one of the most practical promotional product categories: a mug, apron or board stays in use for years, unlike disposable giveaways. As a guide for the Latvian market, a mug with sublimation printing starts from around EUR 4.50 per piece (for a run of 50 pcs, excl. VAT), an apron with embroidery — from around EUR 11, and a bamboo board with laser engraving — from around EUR 8. The standard production time is 5–10 business days after artwork approval, depending on the product and quantity.
Mugs: sublimation, pad printing or a thermal mug
Mugs are the most commonly ordered kitchen item with a logo, and the choice is mainly between three options:
- White ceramic mug with sublimation — full-colour image, photos, gradients, printing across the whole surface. Suitable for small runs; we can even produce a single piece.
- Coloured mug with pad printing or screen printing — a 1–2 colour logo on a coloured body, durable print, more economical for large runs.
- Thermal mug (stainless steel) — for gifts or staff, usually printed with laser engraving or pad printing.
Sublimation mugs are dishwasher-safe, but in the long run the colour holds up better when washed by hand. For more on mug printing options and sizes, see the mugs section.
Aprons: fabric weight determines feel and price
Aprons are popular with cafés, restaurants, bakeries, confectioneries and events. The main difference between models is the fabric weight (g/m²) and the neck strap design.
| Model | Weight | Number of colours | Suitable for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reeva apron | 180 g/m² | 5 | Events, light use |
| Pheebs recycled cotton apron | 200 g/m² | 6 | Eco-concept cafés |
| Odisha OCS organic cotton apron | 200 g/m² | 4 | Certified organic cotton |
| Viera apron | 240 g/m² | 9 | Everyday kitchen work |
| Andrea apron with adjustable neck strap | 240 g/m² | 8 | Shift work, various body sizes |
| Shara Aware™ recycled apron | 240 g/m² | 4 | Sustainability requirements in procurement |
For everyday kitchen work, we recommend the 240 g/m² models — they better withstand frequent washing at 60 °C. For a one-day event, 180–200 g/m² is sufficient.
Which printing method to choose for an apron
- Embroidery or 3D embroidery — the most durable option, looks good on the chest area or pocket, ideal for a 1–3 colour logo.
- Screen printing — cost-effective from 50 pieces, if the logo is 1–2 colours and a large size.
- DTF transfer — full-colour image, fine details, cost-effective for small runs of 1–20 pcs.
- Sublimation — available for the Viera model, suitable for full-colour patterns on light-coloured synthetic fabrics.
For more on the technologies and their differences, see the garment printing section.
Boards and wooden surfaces: laser engraving
Bamboo and wooden boards are a classic gift for restaurants, wine and cheese shops, and estate agencies. For wood and bamboo, we most often offer laser engraving: the logo burns into the material, doesn't wear off and doesn't wash out. The engraving is single-colour (dark brown tone), so the logo needs to be adapted — fine lines under 0.3 mm and gradients disappear in engraving.
From our catalogue of bamboo items with laser engraving, there's also the Runa tableware set with a bamboo lid (6 colours) — a practical alternative if you want a wooden texture in a smaller size and at a lower price. Board sizes and shapes are agreed separately on request.
Lunch boxes, utensils and towels
If your target audience is office staff or schoolchildren, lunch boxes and utensils are more practical:
- Mepal Ellipse 3-part lunch box (500 ml + 2 x 200 ml, 5 colours) — digital printing, pad printing.
- Mepal Ellipse 750+300 ml lunch box (5 colours) — a larger portion, separate compartment for sauce or salad.
- Mepal Cirqula multifunctional bowl 750 ml (3 colours) — laser engraving or pad printing.
- Mepal Ellipse folding spoon (4 colours) — a small extra gift as part of a set.
- Epsy 3-in-1 spoon, fork and knife (10 colours) — digital printing, a cost-effective solution for large runs.
- Kipper multifunctional kitchen tool (4 colours) — full-colour doming sticker or pad printing.
- Alora 210 g/m² recycled cotton kitchen towel (5 colours) — embroidery, screen printing or DTF; works well paired with an apron.

Files, lead times and preparation
Please send your logo as vector graphics — .ai, .eps or .pdf, with colours in CMYK or Pantone. Screen printing and embroidery require a clean vector file without raster effects; for embroidery, we additionally prepare an embroidery program (a one-time fee, usually EUR 15–25 for the first order, not charged on repeat orders).
Standard lead times after artwork approval:
- Mugs with sublimation: 5–7 business days
- Aprons and towels with DTF or screen printing: 5–7 business days
- Embroidery: 7–10 business days
- Laser-engraved boards and utensils: 5–10 business days
Before production, we always send a digital visualisation showing the print size and placement. Urgent jobs can be arranged by agreement.
Frequently asked questions
Can I order just one mug or apron?
Yes. With sublimation and DTF transfer, we can even produce a single piece. For screen printing and embroidery, an economically reasonable minimum is around 20–25 pieces, due to setup costs.
Will the print withstand washing?
Embroidery and screen printing on aprons withstand washing at 40–60 °C. We recommend washing DTF transfers at 40 °C, inside out, and not ironing over the print. Laser engraving on wood and metal doesn't wear off. Sublimation mugs are dishwasher-safe, but hand washing keeps the colour looking good for longer.
How many logo colours can be printed?
In screen printing, each colour requires a separate layer, so 1–2 colours is more cost-effective. DTF, sublimation and digital printing allow a full-colour image with no extra charge for colours. Laser engraving is always single-colour.
Can you create a set, for example, apron + towel + mug?
Yes, we make sets often — the most popular is a 240 g/m² apron with embroidery, an Alora kitchen towel and a mug. We can also pack the set in a gift box with a sticker or card.
How long do I have to wait for a quote?
We prepare a quote with prices per quantity within one business day, provided the product, quantity and printing method are known.
Send your logo and approximate quantity to info@attaprint.lv, call or message us on WhatsApp at +371 25776699 — project manager Madara will prepare a quote with a visualisation within one business day. Our office is located in Riga, at Kandavas iela 29A, where samples can also be viewed in person.
