Christmas Market Set-up: Flags, Stickers, Price Tags

A practical guide to preparing your Christmas market set-up: beach flags, PVC banners, die-cut stickers and clear price tags with timelines and guide prices.

Christmas market set-up: flags, stickers, price tags

A Christmas market set-up, at minimum, needs three things: one visible flag or banner with your name, stickers on your products, and legible price tags. We produce these materials (PVC banners, A4–A0 posters, stickers, cards) in 1–3 business days, while printed promotional products from the catalogue take 6–10 business days. Since today is 12 October and most Christmas markets in Latvia start in late November, there's plenty of time to prepare and print your artwork.

What you actually need at a stall

For a small stall (2×2 m or 3×2 m), the principle is simple: one large surface with your name, one with prices, and everything else on the product itself.

  • A name visible from afar — a beach flag, a PVC banner along the edge of the stall's roof, or a roll-up banner stand if the market is indoors.
  • Price tags — thick card or A5/A4 posters, one per product group.
  • Stickers on products — logo, ingredients, weight, best-before date, price.
  • A small info point — a QR code on a card linking to Instagram or your online shop, plus bank transfer details.
  • Business cards or flyers — so customers can find you again after the market for a repeat order.

If you plan to use the stall over several years, we'd recommend not printing the year or specific prices on the banner itself. Keep prices on swappable cards or posters, which are cheap to reprint.

Flags and banners: what works outdoors in winter

For outdoor markets, wind and damp are the main factors to consider. A beach flag (usually 2.5–3.5 m tall) works well — the fabric doesn't sag, and the flag stays visible even when people crowd around your stall. Choose a base to match the ground: a cross base for paving, a ground spike for soft soil.

A PVC banner made from 510 g/m² material with metal eyelets in the corners is the most affordable option for the front of your stall or along the roof edge. A roll-up banner stand isn't designed for outdoor use — wind will knock it over — so keep it for indoor halls and marquees only. You'll find all the options under banners and roll-up stands, and larger formats under large-format printing.

Price tags and product stickers

For price tags, 300–350 g card with a matte finish works well — you can write on it with a marker if a price changes. A6 and A5 are the most convenient formats: A6 for a single item, A5 for a group of products. If you're planning to use them for several seasons, choose a laminated option.

Stickers are the most frequently ordered material among craftspeople. Paper stickers suit packaging and cardboard boxes; PP film and vinyl suit jars, bottles and candle containers, as they don't get soggy and hold up to moisture. Transparent stickers look great on glass, while metallic finishes suit gift packaging. Die-cutting lets you produce stickers in the exact shape of your logo, not just a circle or square.

For food products, we also print separate ingredient stickers showing allergens, net weight and manufacturer details — usually in a smaller format on paper, applied to the back of the packaging. More on materials and formats here: sticker printing.

We can take on urgent jobs by arrangement, but the first half of December is our busiest period, so plan stickers and banners at least a week ahead.

Files and artwork

Please send your logo as a vector file (.ai, .eps, .pdf, .svg) and photos at 300 dpi in CMYK. For banners and flags, 100–150 dpi at actual size is enough, since they're viewed from a distance. If you don't have a vector file, we can redraw your logo for a separate preparation fee, which is always stated clearly in the quote.

We send the artwork for approval by email and only go to print once you've confirmed it. For promotional products, on request, we can also prepare a 3D preview with your logo so you can check the proportions before production.

FAQ

How long do stickers and price tags take?

We produce stickers, cards and posters in 1–3 business days after the artwork is approved. If the file is ready and submitted in the morning, we often complete simple jobs the next day.

Can I order just one banner or 20 stickers?

Yes, we work with quantities as low as 1 piece — there's no minimum order for digital or large-format printing. The price per piece drops for larger quantities, so for stickers we usually recommend at least 250 pcs.

Which flag works best for an outdoor winter market?

A beach flag with a cross base or ground spike. A roll-up banner stand is designed for indoor use — outdoors, wind can knock it over and damage the structure.

Which stickers should I use for jars and candle containers?

PP film or vinyl — they don't get soggy from condensation and cold. Keep paper stickers for cardboard packaging and gift boxes.

Can you help with the artwork if I only have a logo and text?

Yes, we prepare the artwork from your materials. The preparation fee is stated separately for each item in the quote.

How far in advance should I order printed clothing for my team?

Plan for 4–7 business days of production for printed clothing, and 6–10 business days including delivery for items from the catalogue — so roughly two to three weeks before the market.
