Library Print Materials: Shelf Signs, Bookmarks, Bags
A practical guide for libraries: which materials suit shelf navigation, how much bookmarks and bags with a logo cost, and what files and deadlines you'll need.

Library print materials usually fall into three groups: shelf navigation (stickers, laminated card inserts, PVC panels), reading-promotion materials (bookmarks, flyers, posters) and brand merchandise (tote bags, notebooks). Bookmark printing on 300 g card with double-sided printing starts from roughly 0.10–0.14 EUR per piece at 500 pcs, shelf stickers from roughly 0.25 EUR per piece, and tote bags with a one-colour logo from roughly 2.40 EUR per piece at 100 pcs (all prices excl. VAT). We produce our own prints — stickers, bookmarks, posters — within 1–3 business days, while promotional products with logo printing usually take 6–10 business days.
Shelf signs and navigation
In a library, navigation signage tends to stay in place for a long time but also gets updated fairly often, so it helps to think on two levels. For permanent zone signs (subject sections, reading room, children's corner), use a thicker material — a 3–5 mm PVC panel with full-colour printing, or large-format printing on a rigid substrate. For changeable shelf labels (author letters, UDC groups, themed displays), it's more practical to print cards on 300 g card and slot them into plastic pockets, or use removable stickers.
Which material to choose
- Paper sticker — the cheapest option, suitable for short-term labels on cardboard and wooden shelves indoors.
- PP film or vinyl — resistant to friction and a damp cloth, good for shelf ends, doors, stairwell areas.
- Transparent film — for glass and display cases, when you only need lettering without a background.
- Laminated 300 g card — the easiest to swap out, used in shelf pockets.
We cut stickers to shape in any outline, so arrows, numbers or the library's symbol are no problem. For more on materials and formats, see stickers printing.
Bookmarks: the cheapest reading-promotion tool
A bookmark is the one item a reader takes home and keeps for months. The most common formats are 50×150 mm and 55×210 mm, the material is 300 g matte or gloss card, printed double-sided. One side usually carries the library's logo, address and opening hours; the other a QR code linking to the catalogue, reading marathon rules, or a list of book recommendations.
Practical tips: leave at least a 3 mm bleed, keep important text at least 5 mm from the edge, and don't make the QR code smaller than 20×20 mm. If you're planning several designs for one campaign (say, 4 different covers), you can split the run — the price per piece barely changes as long as the total quantity stays the same. We print bookmarks, event invitations and flyers in digital printing from as little as 1 piece.
Bags, posters and event materials
A tote bag with the library's logo works both as walking advertising and as a prize for reading competitions. A standard cotton bag with single-colour screen printing is the cheapest option; for full-colour illustrations we use DTF transfer. Browse the options in the tote bags category.
For events — Poetry Days, Library Week, book festivals — you'll usually need A3–A1 posters, a roll-up banner stand with information about the library, and sometimes a beach flag by the entrance. A roll-up is handy because it can be moved to a school or a parish event; only the canvas needs replacing. See our banners and roll-up banner stands.
Indicative prices
| Product | Quantity | Indicative price (excl. VAT) |
|---|---|---|
| Bookmarks 50×150 mm, 300 g, double-sided | 500 pcs | from EUR 0.12/pc |
| Bookmarks 50×150 mm, 300 g, double-sided | 2000 pcs | from EUR 0.07/pc |
| Shelf stickers, PP film, contour-cut | 100 pcs | from EUR 0.25/pc |
| Poster A2, 170 g | 10 pcs | from EUR 3.20/pc |
| Roll-up 85×200 cm with canvas | 1 pc | from EUR 65 |
| Tote bag, 1-colour screen printing | 100 pcs | from EUR 2.40/pc |
| Tote bag, full-colour DTF | 50 pcs | from EUR 4.20/pc |
These prices are indicative — the exact figure depends on quantity, material, number of print colours and number of print locations. At larger quantities the price per piece drops noticeably, so it's more cost-effective to order a year's worth of materials in one batch.
Files and deadlines
We prefer artwork in vector format (.ai, .eps, .pdf, .svg) in CMYK colour space; photographs and raster images need 300 dpi at actual size. If the library doesn't have a ready file, a logo and text are enough — we'll prepare the artwork and send it for approval by email.
Deadlines: stickers, bookmarks, flyers and posters — 1–3 business days; bags, notebooks and other items with logo printing — usually 6–10 business days (production 4–7 business days depending on quantity, plus 2–3 days delivery). If your event date is close, let us know straight away — we can handle urgent jobs by arrangement.
Frequently asked questions
Can we order a small quantity, say 100 bookmarks?
Yes. We work in digital printing from 1 piece, so 100 bookmarks is no problem. Just bear in mind the price per piece will be higher than at 500 or 1000 pcs, since the preparation work is the same regardless of quantity.
Which stickers won't leave marks on the shelves?
For changeable navigation, we recommend film stickers with removable adhesive or cards in plastic pockets. On varnished wood, standard permanent adhesive can leave residue after a year, so if the labels will be changed seasonally, it's better to choose the removable option.
Can you print bags with children's drawings from a competition?
Yes. We transfer colour drawings using DTF transfer — the number of colours doesn't affect the price. Drawings should be scanned at a resolution of at least 300 dpi; if the file is lower quality, we'll let you know beforehand what size on the bag will still look clean.
Can you make one roll-up with changeable content for several events?
The roll-up mechanism lasts several years, and a new canvas can be ordered separately. This is cheaper than a full set, which is why libraries often order one stand and add 1–2 new canvases over the year.
How do we get a price quote?
Send us a list of products, quantities and approximate sizes. Within one business day we'll send a quote online and as a PDF with images, prices, print location, setup fee and lead time for each item; on request, we also add a 3D preview with the library's logo.
Do you issue invoices to municipal institutions with deferred payment?
Yes, we work on an invoice basis with municipal libraries and educational institutions. Payment terms are agreed before the order is confirmed.
Send your list of materials to info@attaprint.lv or message us on WhatsApp +371 25776699 — we'll prepare a quote with prices, deadlines and an artwork proposal within one business day.
