Brochure printing in Riga: single-sided, double-sided and folded
Brochure printing in Riga from 1 piece: A4 and A5 formats, single or multiple folds, stapled booklets. Prices, paper, turnaround and artwork requirements.

Brochure printing in Riga takes place digitally at our production facility on Kandavas iela 29A, so we work with runs from 10 up to 5,000 copies. A stapled A5 brochure with 8 pages on 170 gsm paper costs from €2.20/pc for small runs and from €1.20/pc from 250 pcs (excl. VAT, setup fee €15), while a simple double-sided A4 brochure with one fold works out considerably cheaper. Standard turnaround is 1–3 business days.
What kinds of brochures we print
In practice, a "brochure" can mean three different things, and this affects both price and artwork:
- Single- or double-sided sheet without a fold — essentially a flyer or info sheet (A6, A5, A4). The fastest and cheapest option.
- Folded brochure made from a single sheet — an A4 sheet with one, two or three folds, resulting in 4, 6 or 8 pages.
- Stapled booklet or catalogue — 8, 12, 16 or more pages, held together with two staples along the spine.
The most common orders are café menus, service descriptions, price lists, event programmes, information materials for schools and local authorities, and product catalogues for manufacturers. Read more about the technology in our digital printing section.
Formats and fold types
| Fold | Starting sheet | Finished size | Pages |
|---|---|---|---|
| No fold | A5 / A4 | 148×210 / 210×297 mm | 1–2 |
| Single fold (half) | A4 | 148×210 mm (A5) | 4 |
| Roll fold | A4 | 99×210 mm (DL) | 6 |
| Z-fold | A4 | 99×210 mm (DL) | 6 |
| Gate fold | A4 | 105×210 mm | 6 |
| Stapled booklet | A4 sheets | A4 or A5 | 8, 12, 16, 20… |
A roll fold and a Z-fold look similar but open differently: in a roll fold, the panels wrap into each other (the inner panel needs to be made 2 mm narrower), while in a Z-fold the panels unfold like an accordion. If you're not sure which one suits your content, send it over — we'll tell you which layout reads more logically.

Stapled booklets include a one-off setup fee of €15 (artwork check, imposition, print preparation). The exact price depends on page count, paper weight, print run and finishing, so we calculate each job individually. Delivery via our courier partner in Riga costs €16 per trip; pickup at our facility is free of charge.
When it becomes more cost-effective
In digital printing, the price drops gradually rather than in big steps like offset printing. The key threshold is 250 pcs: an 8-page A4 brochure then costs €1.90 compared with €3.50 at ten copies. If you're planning two campaigns within a year with the same content, it's usually cheaper to print everything in one go.
Paper and finishing
The standard choice for brochures is 130–170 gsm coated paper. 130 gsm suits thicker, multi-page booklets, while 170 gsm works well for short 4–6-page brochures that need to be handed out and held at events. For covers of stapled catalogues, we often use 250–300 gsm.
We also offer:
- matte or gloss lamination for covers (protects against fingerprints and cracking along the fold);
- creasing (scoring) before folding — mandatory from 200 gsm upwards, to prevent the ink from cracking at the fold;
- hole punching, if the brochure needs to go into a folder;
- saddle stitching along the spine.
If your brochure needs matching materials — business cards, invitations or cards in the same design — we can print them at the same time; see our business cards and small-format print section.
Artwork and file preparation
The ideal format is a PDF with 3 mm bleed, in CMYK colour space, with raster images at 300 dpi. Convert text to outlines or embed the fonts. For folded brochures, send the layout as spreads: one page in the PDF = one side of the sheet, not separate panels.
Keep a safety margin of at least 5 mm from the edge and from fold lines so text doesn't get caught in the fold. For stapled booklets, the page count must be divisible by 4.
If you don't have artwork ready, we can prepare it for you: a simple brochure layout from finished text and images usually costs €30–60, depending on the number of pages. We always send a digital proof for approval by email before printing — we only proceed to print once we have written confirmation.
Turnaround times
- Single- and double-sided brochures without finishing — 1–2 business days.
- Folded brochures — 2–3 business days.
- Stapled booklets and catalogues with laminated covers — 3–4 business days.
- Urgent jobs — by arrangement; simple jobs can often be completed the same day.
Turnaround is counted from the moment the artwork is approved, not from the initial request. Finished products can be collected from Kandavas iela 29A or sent by courier. You can view examples of previous work in our our work section.
FAQ
What is the minimum print run for brochures?
There's no minimum — we print even 5 or 10 pieces, since we work with digital printing. For very small runs, the per-piece price is higher, but the setup cost stays the same (€15 for stapled booklets).
How much does an A5 brochure with 8 pages cost?
From €2.20/pc for small runs, €1.50/pc from 100 pcs and €1.20/pc from 250 pcs, plus a €15 setup fee. Prices exclude VAT, on 170 gsm paper.
What's the difference between a roll fold and a Z-fold?
In a roll fold, the panels wrap into each other, so the inner panel needs to be made 2 mm narrower. In a Z-fold, the panels unfold like an accordion and are all the same width. Either way, an A4 sheet becomes 6 pages in DL format.
Can you design the artwork if I only have text and a logo?
Yes. A simple brochure layout costs around €30–60, depending on the number of pages and images. We send you a PDF for approval before printing.
Can a brochure be printed on thicker paper with lamination?
Yes. The most popular option is a 300 gsm cover with matte lamination and 130–170 gsm inner pages. For thicker paper, we always apply creasing before folding so the ink doesn't crack at the fold.
How quickly can I get brochures in Riga?
Simple double-sided brochures — 1–2 business days, with folding 2–3, stapled catalogues 3–4. Courier delivery in Riga costs €16 per trip, or free pickup at our facility.
