Clear Stickers for Glass and Packaging — Printing in Riga

Clear stickers for glass shop windows, doors and product packaging. Printing from EUR 25/m², contour cutting EUR 8/m², turnaround 3–5 business days.

Clear sticker with a logo on a café's glass door

We produce clear stickers on self-adhesive film from EUR 24.00/m² (from 5 m² — EUR 21.00/m², from 20 m² — EUR 18.00/m², prices are indicative, excl. VAT), with contour cutting to shape an extra EUR 8.00/m²; there is no set-up fee. We also work with single pieces, and the usual production time is 3–5 business days. The key technical point: on clear film, CMYK colours are semi-transparent, so the design needs to be planned differently than on white film.

Where clear stickers work best

Clear film is the right solution when you want only the image or text to be visible, not a sticker-shaped rectangle. The most common uses in Riga and across Latvia:

  • café and shop windows, entrance doors — opening hours, logo, "Pull / Push" signage;
  • glass partitions and office interiors — logo on doors, safety marking strips;
  • product packaging — labels on glass jars, bottles, clear plastic tubs and bags where the product itself stays visible;
  • seal stickers for boxes and paper bags (retail, bakeries and confectioners);
  • car side windows and rear windscreens;
  • event and sports club stickers on glass, for a "floating" image effect.

Colours on clear film: what to know before designing

Digital printing uses four colours (CMYK) — there is no white ink in the standard process. On a clear base, this means:

  • light and pastel colours become weak, as they "pick up" the background colour (the glass behind the sticker);
  • white elements in the design stay transparent unless a white base is printed underneath them;
  • dark, solid colours (black, dark blue, red, green) look good on glass and contrast well even against a light background.

Depending on the design, we offer practical solutions: a selective white base under coloured areas, reworking the design into darker colours, or cut coloured film letters and logos with no printing at all. Before production, we always show you how your specific file will look on clear material — this is discussed already at the quote stage.

Pricing

Sticker price is based on the total area in square metres, not the number of pieces, so 200 small logo stickers often cost less than two large shop-window stickers.

Materials and finish options

Gloss or matte clear film

Gloss film on glass is almost invisible and gives brighter colours — suitable for labels and logos. The matte version reflects less under shop-window lighting and looks like part of the glass itself; it's often chosen for offices and restaurant doors.

Frosted (sandblasted) glass effect

If the goal is to block the view — for example, a meeting room glass wall or the lower part of a door — a frosting film with a cut-out logo or pattern is used. It lets light through but hides the details.

Lamination and durability

For outdoor conditions and surfaces that are cleaned often, we recommend lamination: it protects the print from scratches, cleaning agents and UV. Without lamination, colours stay true for years indoors; outdoors, roughly 1–2 years. With lamination outdoors, it's usually 3–5 years.

Stickers for packaging and labels

For product labels on glass jars and bottles, we use a water-resistant self-adhesive film — it withstands fridge moisture, condensation and contact with hand oils. If the packaging is washed or stored in damp conditions for a long time, we add lamination. Contour cutting allows rounded, oval or free-form labels, as well as seal stickers that wrap over a lid's edge.

When planning a label for a food product, note that the sticker must not come into direct contact with the product, and mandatory information (ingredients, weight, best-before date, manufacturer) should be planned at a minimum of 6 pt so it stays legible. If you also need cards or leaflets for the product alongside labels, we can produce them in one order — see printing services.

Files, turnaround and application

Artwork should be submitted as vector graphics (.ai, .eps, .pdf) in CMYK colour space, with a 2–3 mm gap between the contour and the text, and a separate cut line if cutting to shape is needed. If you don't have a file, we'll prepare the artwork based on your logo and text.

The standard turnaround is 3–5 business days from artwork approval; for large runs or laminated work, up to 5 business days. Rush jobs are possible by arrangement.

When applying to glass: the surface must be cleaned and dried, with a temperature of at least +10°C. For larger areas, use the wet method (water with a drop of washing-up liquid) so bubbles can be smoothed out. For shop windows, consider printing for application from the inside — this protects the sticker from weather and vandalism, but the artwork must then be mirrored.

Frequently asked questions

Can white be printed on clear film?

Standard CMYK printing has no white ink — white areas stay transparent. If white is essential to the design, we solve it with a white base layer under the image or with cut white film. Tell us about the intended background, and we'll suggest the best option.

How long do clear stickers last on the outside of a window?

Without lamination, roughly 1–2 years; with lamination, usually 3–5 years. Applied from the inside of the glass, the lifespan is considerably longer, as the film isn't exposed to rain or cleaning.

Can I order just one sticker?

Yes. We also work with single pieces; there's no set minimum order amount, though the price per square metre is higher for small runs — from 20 m² it drops to EUR 18.00/m².

Does removing stickers leave glue residue on glass?

Self-adhesive film can usually be removed from glass without damage; if the sticker has been in place for several years, any remaining adhesive can be removed with alcohol or a special solvent and a scraper. If you're planning a seasonal change, let us know — we'll use an easily removable adhesive.

Do labels withstand washing and the fridge?

The film we use is water-resistant and suitable for fridge moisture. If the packaging will be washed with water and a sponge, we recommend lamination to protect the print from wearing off.

How quickly can I get a quote?

We prepare a quote within one business day, provided we know the sticker size, quantity and whether cutting to shape is needed.
