Annual Report Printing: Binders, Binding and Deadlines for the 2027 Season
Annual report printing in A4 format with stapling, spiral or glued spine binding takes 1–3 business days. A guide to paper, binding types, prices and season planning.

Annual report printing in A4 format with binding at our facility takes 1–3 business days: small print runs (5–50 copies) with stapling or spiral binding usually need just one to two business days, while thicker reports with a glued spine take two to three. As a rough guide, one 40-page A4 report in black-and-white print with a colour cover starts from EUR 4 per copy (excl. VAT), with the price dropping as the quantity increases. October is a good time to plan your year-end presentations and agree in advance on artwork for spring 2027 reports — demand from accounting firms peaks in January and April.
Why planning should start in autumn
The annual report preparation calendar is predictable. Small companies must submit their report to the State Revenue Service (VID) no later than four months after the end of the reporting year (by 30 April for a calendar year), while medium and large companies have seven months (until 31 July). Before that come shareholder meetings, board sessions and the addition of the auditor's report — and it's these events that usually call for printed copies.
In practice, this creates two peaks: December–January (year-end presentations, budgets, internal reports) and March–April (approved annual reports, auditors' opinions, copies for banks and investors). If the artwork is prepared in autumn, come spring all that's left is to update the figures and send the PDF to print.
Binding types and what each one is good for
Stapling
Two staples in the spine, or saddle-stitch binding along the fold — the simplest and cheapest solution for 8–64 pages. Suitable for internal reports, monthly summaries, and meeting materials.
Spiral or plastic comb binding
A metal spiral or plastic comb lets the document lie completely flat when open, which is handy if the report has lots of tables that need notes written next to them. Suitable for 20–300 pages. A metal spiral looks neater, while a comb is cheaper and allows pages to be rearranged later.
Glued spine (perfect binding)
From 40 pages, a report can be bound with a glued spine — it looks like a book or catalogue, and the company name and year can be printed on the spine. This option suits representative copies: for the bank, investors, the board, or the archive.
Ring binder with printed insert
If parts of the report are added gradually, or if the report, appendices and contracts need to be combined in one folder, the most practical option is a ring binder with a printed cover insert and spine label. Pages can be freely changed while the document keeps a consistent look.
| Binding | Number of pages (A4) | Approx. price per copy (10–50 copies) | Turnaround |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stapling | 8–64 | from EUR 2.50 | 1–2 business days |
| Plastic comb | 20–300 | from EUR 3.50 | 2–3 business days |
| Metal spiral | 20–300 | from EUR 4.00 | 2–3 business days |
| Glued spine | 40–400 | from EUR 5.00 | 2–3 business days |
| Ring binder + insert | any | from EUR 6.00 | 3–5 business days |

Paper, format and layout
The standard choice for an annual report is portrait A4. If the report is dominated by wide tables and charts, consider landscape A4 or A3 folded in half.
- Inner pages: 90–120 g/m² offset paper for text sections, 130–170 g/m² matte coated paper if there are lots of charts and photos.
- Covers: 250–300 g/m² card stock with matte lamination — no glare and no fingerprints during meetings.
- Colour: text pages in black-and-white, chart pages in full colour — this works out cheaper than printing the whole report in colour.
- Numbering and table of contents: check before printing, since corrections after binding mean a new print run.
The same artwork is often used for a presentation booklet for shareholders or clients too — digital printing works from as little as 1 piece, so you can print a single sample, review it in person, and only then order 30 or 100 copies.
File preparation
The ideal setup is a single PDF with all pages in sequence, in CMYK colour space, with raster images at a minimum of 300 dpi. If a logo is used on the cover, please supply it in vector format (.ai, .eps, .pdf, .svg). For edge-to-edge printing, a 3 mm bleed is required, along with a 10 mm clear margin on the binding side so the text doesn't disappear into the spiral or glued spine.
We also accept Excel and Word files, but in that case we'll send a PDF layout for approval by email before printing — table shifts between programs are the most common reason a report needs to be reprinted.
What else comes in handy during report season
Besides reports, accounting and audit firms in this period usually also need meeting materials, folders and small gifts for clients who submit their documents on time. Alongside printing, we supply promotional products with a logo and refreshed business cards — everything can be prepared with a single artwork and delivered together.
Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to print and bind an annual report?
Standard jobs — 1–3 business days, depending on the binding and print run. Stapled or spiral-bound reports up to 50 copies are usually ready the next business day after the artwork is approved. Urgent jobs can be done within one day by prior arrangement.
Do you print a single copy?
Yes. Digital printing works from 1 piece, so we often produce one sample copy for review first, followed by the rest of the print run. The price per copy decreases for larger quantities.
Which binding is best for a report with appendices?
If appendices are being added or changed, a ring binder or plastic comb binding is more practical. If the document is final and intended for the archive or the bank, choose a glued spine with the title printed on it.
What file format should I send?
Ideally, a single PDF with pages in the correct order, in CMYK, raster images at 300 dpi, and a 3 mm bleed if printing to the edge. Logos should be in vector format. We also accept Word and Excel, but in that case our prepared PDF must be approved before printing.
Can you print just the covers if we print the inner pages ourselves?
Yes, this is a common part of an order: we print and laminate covers on 250–300 g/m² card stock, and if needed, bind them together with the inner pages you bring us.
How far in advance should I book the spring print run?
Workload is highest in the first two weeks of April, so it's worth booking your print date at least a week ahead. The artwork can be approved earlier and printed once the report is signed.
Send us your PDF or let us know how many pages and copies you need: info@attaprint.lv, +371 25776699 (also WhatsApp), or our contacts page. We'll prepare a quote with pricing, binding options and turnaround within one business day.
