Invitation Printing: Papers, Sizes and Envelopes — Atta Print
Invitation printing in Riga: popular sizes A6, A5, DL and square format, 250–350 g paper, matching C6, C5 and DL envelopes. Turnaround 3–10 business days.

We produce invitations on 250–350 g paper, most often in A6 (105×148 mm), A5 (148×210 mm), DL (99×210 mm) and square 145×145 mm formats, with matching C6, C5 and DL envelopes. We also work with orders of just 1 piece, but the real price difference starts from 50–100 pieces, and the standard turnaround is 3–10 business days depending on quantity and finishing.
Sizes and the envelopes that fit them
In practice, the envelope determines the invitation size, not the other way around. If you've already bought the envelope, just tell us its size — we'll adjust the card so it slides in easily but doesn't rattle around.
| Card size | Envelope | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| A7, 74×105 mm | C7 (81×114 mm) | Place cards, mini thank-you cards |
| A6, 105×148 mm | C6 (114×162 mm) | Wedding and anniversary invitations |
| DL, 99×210 mm | DL (110×220 mm) | Event invitations, gift cards |
| A5, 148×210 mm | C5 (162×229 mm) | Programmes, corporate invitations |
| Square 145×145 mm | Square envelope 155×155 mm | Weddings, christenings |
| 100×150 mm | C6 | Thank-you cards, photo-style invitations |
Folded (double) cards are calculated by the open format: an A6 folded card is printed as an A5 sheet with a fold line. If you're planning text on both sides, allow for a 4–5 mm margin from the fold on each side so letters don't fall into the crease.
Papers: what to choose
Coated paper, 300 g
The standard choice when the invitation includes photos or saturated colours. The matte version looks more sophisticated and can be written on with a pen; the glossy version gives a sharper image but reflects light and smudges when written on.
Uncoated (offset) paper, 300–350 g
A more natural surface with a warm, soft tone — a good choice for minimalist wedding invitations. One- or two-colour designs look great on this paper, though large solid black or dark blue areas come out slightly softer than on coated paper.
Design papers
Textured papers (linen, cotton-style, pearlescent) are available on request — before placing an order, we confirm the specific paper and minimum quantity together, as these papers come in set batches. Textured paper gives slightly softer edges, so we don't recommend fine 6 pt text on it.
Finishing
The most commonly ordered finishes are matte or gloss lamination (makes the card resistant to fingerprints), rounded corners (r=3 mm), and contour cutting for non-standard shapes. Foil stamping and embossing are available as an additional process — we quote these separately based on the design.

If you need small-format cards at a precise price, the business card line from our price list applies: business cards 90×55 mm, 300 g — indicatively from 25.00 EUR per set of 100 pcs, or from 22.00 EUR per set when ordering 3+ sets, with 0 EUR setup. This format is often used for place cards, gift cards and thank-you cards. You can see the full range of cards and flyers under business cards and cards, and all other printing services at the Atta Print shop.
We offer envelopes both plain white and coloured; standard white C6 or DL envelopes start from around 0.12 EUR/pc, with coloured or printed envelopes costing more. We can print a return address or a monogram on envelopes; the minimum quantity for envelope printing is 50 pcs.
Files and preparation
Please send print-ready files as PDF, CMYK, 300 dpi, with a 3 mm bleed on each side and text at least 5 mm from the cut line. It's best to send logos and graphics as vector files (.ai, .eps, .pdf) — this keeps fine lines sharp.
If you don't have a design yet, we'll prepare one for you: a simple invitation artwork from around 25 EUR, more complex designs with illustrations or multiple languages — by agreement. We always confirm a digital layout before printing; a physical printed sample on real paper can be made for an extra charge if the order exceeds 100 pcs.
Turnaround times
The standard turnaround for cards and invitations is 3–5 business days from artwork approval. With lamination, rounded corners or contour cutting — 5–7 business days; for foil stamping and design papers, allow up to 10 business days. Urgent jobs can be arranged by agreement, so let us know straight away the date you need the invitations ready by — for weddings and events, it's usually wise to leave at least a week's buffer for posting.
Frequently asked questions
What's the minimum order quantity?
There's no minimum — we can produce just 1 or 10 pieces, but at small quantities the price per piece is higher, since the setup and cutting work is the same regardless of volume. The real price drop starts from 50–100 pieces.
What paper thickness should I choose for an invitation?
300 g is the standard, suitable for most invitations. 250 g is used for thinner thank-you cards and larger quantities where postage weight matters; 350 g is for a firmer, "heavier" feel in the hand.
Can you print envelopes and names for each guest?
Yes. We can print a return address or design element on envelopes, and personalised names on cards using variable data printing. Send us the guest list as an Excel file; personalisation costs extra, from around 0.10 EUR/pc.
Can you make cards in non-standard shapes?
Yes — we use contour cutting, for example for rounded corners, arch shapes, or tickets with perforation. Non-standard shapes require a vector shape file or a cutting path we prepare for you.
How long should I allow from order to delivery?
Usually 3–5 business days for simple invitations and 5–10 business days with additional finishing. The turnaround starts counting from the moment the artwork is approved.
