Attracting Visitors to Your Exhibition Stand: Stickers, QR Codes, Competitions
Practical ways to draw people to your exhibition stand: a beach flag, QR-code stickers, a competition with a questionnaire and a prize. With timelines and indicative prices.

Attracting visitors to your exhibition stand starts not at the table, but 15–20 metres away: a beach flag 3 m tall is visible across the whole hall, while a roll-up banner at the edge of your stand only works from 5–7 metres. In practice, the best results come from combining three elements — visibility from a distance, a reason to stop (a competition or a sample), and capturing the contact with a QR code. We prepare printed materials — flags, stickers, posters, cards — in 1–3 business days, and promotional products with logo printing in 6–10 business days.
1. Visibility from a distance: a flag, not just a roll-up
In an exhibition hall, all the stands are at the same height, so whoever goes upward wins. A beach flag with sublimation printing on polyester is the easiest way to stand out above the crowd — it weighs just a few kilograms, folds into a bag, and also works well for outdoor summer events.

Principles that work:
- Put only your logo and 2–3 words about what you do on the flag. A phone number isn't readable from 15 metres away.
- A straight-shaped flag holds text better, while a teardrop shape (Pro, Standart) is more noticeable in motion.
- Place the roll-up not behind you, but at the edge of your stand facing the aisle — it acts as a "wall" that reduces how easily people walk past your stand.
- A mini roll-up (tabletop) is handy for a price list or competition rules.
You can browse the full range in banners and roll-ups and flags and stands.
2. QR-code stickers: the cheapest contact channel
A sticker is the only printed product you can put on absolutely anything: a paper bag, a mug box, a product sample, a folder, the edge of a table. If it has a QR code on it, you're paying just a few cents per potential website visit.
What to put behind the QR code
Not your homepage, but a specific page: your exhibition offer, a catalogue PDF, a competition form, or a booking calendar. Create a separate link with UTM parameters for each item — then after the event you'll see how many scans came from the bag versus the table sticker.
Technical requirements
- Minimum QR code size in print — 25×25 mm; on glossy or metallic film, 30×30 mm is better.
- Contrast: dark code on a light background. Inverse (light on dark) doesn't work on some phones.
- Leave a white margin around the code at least 4 modules wide.
- We scan a test print before full production — this is included when approving the artwork.
We print stickers in sheets or rolls, on paper, PP film, vinyl, transparent or metallic film, with contour cutting in any shape — see sticker printing. Turnaround: 1–3 business days.
3. A competition with a questionnaire: how to avoid collecting 300 useless contacts
A competition attracts people, but often collects prize-hunters rather than buyers. The solution — a questionnaire with 3 questions, one of which is a qualifying one ("Who makes purchasing decisions at your company?" or "How many employees do you have?").

Two working approaches:
- Paper form + box. We print A6 cards with a questionnaire (from 1 pc to large quantities), with a QR code to your catalogue on the back. Simple, works without internet, which can be slow in exhibition halls.
- QR to a digital form. A lightweight tabletop card or sticker with a code; the visitor fills it in on their phone. Contacts go straight into your CRM.
Don't choose expensive gadgets as prizes — they attract the wrong people. Better to offer 3–5 smaller prizes: a thermal mug with your logo, a gift set, a tote bag with samples. That way, announcing the winners gives you 3–5 reasons to email people after the event.
4. Sample bags, price tags, and signage
A person walking out with a bag in hand carries your logo across the whole hall. Paper bags with a logo (white and kraft, from 100 pcs) cost less than most promotional items, yet deliver more visibility. Inside — a catalogue, a business card, and a sticker with a QR code.
A note on price tags: if you have products on display, there should be a printed card with the name and price next to them. Visitors very rarely ask for the price — they simply walk away. We print cards and price tags via digital printing from 1 piece.

How to measure what worked
Without measurement, you'll repeat the same thing next year. Minimum set-up:
- A separate link with UTM for each QR code — one for the bag, one for the table sticker, one for the flag card.
- Count the questionnaires and compare with the number of scans: if scans are high but forms are few, the form is too long.
- After 30 days, check how many of the collected contacts turned into a conversation or a quote.
- Cost per qualified contact = (stand + printing + prize costs) / number of contacts. This figure lets you compare exhibitions against each other.
Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance of the exhibition should materials be ordered?
We produce our own printed products (stickers, cards, posters) in 1–3 business days, roll-ups and beach flags in 3–5 business days. For promotional products with logo printing, allow 6–10 business days. The safe option is to order 3 weeks ahead, leaving time for artwork revisions.
What QR code size should be used on a sticker?
Minimum 25×25 mm for a typical scanning distance of 20–30 cm. On glossy or metallic film, 30×30 mm is recommended, as glare can interfere with the camera. A free margin must be left around the code.
Can a beach flag be used indoors?
Yes, but you'll need a cross base instead of a ground spike. The Classic base is from EUR 41.93, Premium from EUR 58.73 — the heavier one holds the flag more stably in draughty spots or areas with heavy foot traffic.
Which prize works best in a competition?
Several mid-value prizes (a thermal mug, a gift set, a tote bag with products) generate more conversations than one expensive item. Plus, multiple winners mean multiple reasons to get in touch after the event.
What files should be submitted for printing?
Vector graphics (.ai, .eps, .pdf, .svg), CMYK colours. Raster images at 300 dpi at actual size; for large-format printing, 100–150 dpi is sufficient, since viewing distance is greater. We approve the artwork by email before printing.
Can I order just one roll-up or one flag?
Yes, we also work with single pieces. At larger quantities, the price per piece drops — for example, the Beach Flag Standart from EUR 20.16 at 1 pc down to EUR 15.68 at 100 pcs.
