What "3-in-1" and "5-in-1" mean

The number refers to the number of connector combinations, not the number of wires. A typical 3-in-1 cable is a single cord with one USB-A input and three connector ends: USB-C, Lightning and micro-USB. A 5-in-1 cable adds a second input – USB-C – so you can charge from either an older laptop or a new USB-C power adapter, and it usually also supports data transfer.

The practical difference as a gift: a 3-in-1 is cheaper, but a 5-in-1 almost never ends up unused, because it also works with the newest laptops. If your team has both Android and iPhone users, 5-in-1 is the safer choice.

Data transfer or charging only

A cable can't "add" watts – that's determined by the power adapter – but a cable can limit them, which is why a 45 W cable is more versatile.

USB-C, Lightning and MagSafe – what's relevant now

EU regulation has already shifted the market towards USB-C: new phones, tablets and most laptops charge via USB-C. Lightning is still needed for older iPhone models, and micro-USB for headphones, lamps and old power banks. That's why a multifunctional cable will remain the more sensible choice than a USB-C-only cord for the next 2–3 years.

As for MagSafe: magnetic wireless charging for Apple devices is popular, but certified MagSafe chargers with a logo typically cost EUR 25–45/pc (indicative) and require a bigger budget. If the goal is a bulk gift for 100–500 recipients, a cable or a power bank with a built-in cable offers a better price-to-usefulness ratio. Length: 30 cm or 150 cm

A 30 cm cable is the bag-and-keyring format – something you carry with you. A 150 cm cable is a home and office cable, used at a desk. Printing: what works on a small housing

The print area on a cable is usually 15–40 mm wide, so the logo needs to be simplified. Practical options:

• Laser engraving – on aluminium and bamboo; single-colour, durable, doesn't wear off. The best choice for Alasia and Chechia models.
• Pad printing – 1–2 colours on plastic; inexpensive at large quantities.
• Full-colour doming sticker – a domed epoxy sticker with a full-colour logo; suitable if your brand has gradients or multiple colours.
• Digital printing – full colour directly on the surface, where the geometry allows it.
