Café Printing: Aprons, Mugs, Stickers, Menus

What cafés and restaurants typically order: laminated menus, embroidered aprons, mugs, take-away stickers. Guide prices and turnaround times.

Café table with a laminated menu, mug, apron and stickers

A typical café printing order consists of four items: laminated menus (from around EUR 2.50/pc at 20 pieces), aprons with embroidered logo (from EUR 19/pc at 5 pieces), take-away stickers on a roll (from EUR 0.09/pc at 1000 pieces), and mugs with printing (from EUR 4.50/pc at 24 pieces). All prices are excl. VAT and indicative — they drop as quantity increases. Standard turnaround is 3–10 business days depending on the product; urgent jobs by arrangement.

Where to start: the basic set for a new café

When a new venue opens, we usually recommend not rushing into everything at once, but first sorting out what the guest sees in the first ten seconds and what staff use every day.

  • Menu — a laminated A4 or A3 sheet, or a booklet format. In the first months, prices and items often still change, so smaller print runs (15–30 pcs) are common.
  • Aprons with logo — 4–8 pieces for waiters and bartenders, ideally two sets for rotation.
  • Stickers — for sealing take-away containers, ingredient labelling, logo on paper bags.
  • Business cards or loyalty cards — a simple way to bring the guest back.
  • Outdoor poster or A-board insert with the day's offer.

Later on, you can add mugs, staff T-shirts, bar towels, tote bags for sale, and banners for events.

Menus: formats and practical tips

We produce menus on 300 gsm card with laminating (matte or gloss film) — this is more resistant to grease and moisture and can be wiped clean. If the menu changes weekly, it's more cost-effective to use thin 170 gsm paper without laminating and reprint more often.

Menu optionPrint runGuide price per pc (excl. VAT)
A4 double-sided, 300 gsm + matte laminating20from EUR 2.50
A4 double-sided, 300 gsm + matte laminating100from EUR 1.20
A4 double-sided, 170 gsm, no laminate (daily menu)50from EUR 0.55
A3 fold-out (4 pages), 250 gsm30from EUR 3.80
Booklet menu, 8 pages, stapled50from EUR 4.50

Practical tips: leave a 3 mm bleed area, keep text at least 5 mm from the edge, and place prices in a separate layer or column — this makes it much easier to edit for the next reprint. You can browse our full range of digital printing — menus, flyers, booklets — in the printing services section, and cards and flyers in the business cards section.

Aprons and staff clothing

For aprons in the kitchen and dining area, embroidery works best: it withstands washing at 60°C and industrial laundering without cracking. A logo up to 8 cm wide in embroidery costs roughly EUR 4–6 extra on top of the apron price, plus a one-off digitising fee of EUR 15–25.

For T-shirts and sweatshirts for staff, the choice is between screen printing and DTF. Screen printing is more cost-effective from 30–50 pieces and 1–3 colours; DTF works from a single piece and allows full-colour designs. If your team has 6 people, DTF will almost always be cheaper. More detail on the technologies is in the garment printing section.

Stickers: take-away, labelling, logo

Stickers are the highest-volume item in cafés. Typical uses: a round logo sticker Ø40–50 mm for sealing paper bags and containers, a rectangular sticker with ingredients and best-before date, a seasonal sticker on coffee cup lids, a sticker on a window or door with opening hours.

We produce stickers on matte or gloss self-adhesive film with contour cutting — so the shape can be anything, not just a square. Stickers on a roll are more convenient if staff use them every day; sheet format works better for small quantities or when several designs are needed in one order. Guide prices: Ø50 mm stickers, 500 pcs from EUR 0.14/pc, 1000 pcs from EUR 0.09/pc, 5000 pcs from EUR 0.05/pc. More in the stickers section.

Mugs, towels and products for sale

Ceramic mugs with a logo serve two purposes: use on site and sale to guests. Sublimation printing allows a full-colour image printed all around the mug; for a simple single-colour logo, a smaller print area is enough. Guide price from EUR 4.50/pc at 24 pieces, from EUR 3.60 at 100. Thermal mugs and flasks with an engraved or printed logo cost from EUR 12/pc and work well as gifts for loyal guests or business partners.

Bar towels with embroidered logo, tote bags with café graphics for sale at the till, and water bottles for the team are also frequently ordered. We select these products from our catalogue, which includes both budget and premium options.

Events, terrace and seasonal items

In summer and during events, large-format printing comes into play: PVC banners on a fence or terrace railing, roll-up banners with an offer, posters A3–A0 in the window display, photo banners for events. The guide price for a PVC banner is from EUR 14/m² with hems and eyelets; an 85×200 cm roll-up banner stand — from EUR 95 with the stand. It's worth getting a roll-up with a replaceable graphic panel if your offer changes seasonally.

Files and turnaround times

Please send designs as vector graphics (.ai, .eps, .pdf), in CMYK colour mode, with embedded or outlined fonts. If you only have a logo in JPG format, it can be redrawn — typically EUR 20–40 depending on complexity.

We also work with single-piece orders — for example, one apron or five menus. In larger quantities, the price per piece drops significantly, so if you know the menu won't change for six months, it's more cost-effective to order a larger quantity right away.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a laminated menu last?

With daily use and everyday wiping — roughly 6–12 months. Edges and fold lines wear out faster, so for fold-out menus we recommend thicker card (300 gsm) and matte laminating, which shows scratches less.

Does an embroidered logo on an apron withstand washing?

Yes. Embroidery withstands regular washing at 60°C and is suitable for industrial laundering. This is the main reason we choose it more often than printing for kitchen clothing.

What's the minimum order for stickers?

Technically we can also produce 50 pieces, but the price per piece is then high, since most of the cost is setup. The practical threshold for a café is 500–1000 pieces per design.

Can you create a menu design if I only have text in a Word file?

Yes. A simple menu layout with your logo and photos costs roughly from EUR 40 excl. VAT. Future price changes to the layout are edited for a small additional fee.

How many mugs does it make sense to order the first time?

24 pieces is a reasonable minimum if the mugs are intended for on-site use. For sale, we recommend starting with 50 and seeing how quickly they sell before ordering a larger batch.

Can several products be combined in one order?

Yes, and it's more cost-effective — one delivery trip and one invoice. Note that the overall turnaround will then follow the slowest item, usually clothing with embroidery or screen printing.
