Kraft Paper Bags with Logo: White or Brown – How to Choose

Comparing white and brown kraft paper bags with logo printing: how the print looks on each, prices from €0.15/pc at 100 pcs, and turnaround times.

Paper bag with twisted handles 25×15×32 cm – brown kraft with logo (print example)

Kraft paper bags with logo printing in our catalogue start from €0.15/pc at 100 pieces, and the main choice is between white and brown kraft paper at 70–100 g/m². On white paper, colours stay close to the artwork and light tones look good; on brown paper, every colour takes on a warm, slightly darker shade, and white printing is generally not used on it. Standard printing is up to 2 colours, and the production time with printing is approximately 6–10 business days.

How a logo looks on white kraft paper

White kraft paper is bleached, with a smoother surface and a neutral base. This means the brand colour comes out closest to what you see on screen or in a Pantone swatch: red stays red, blue doesn't turn greyish, and fine lines or small blocks of text (for example, a website address at 6–8 pt) keep their contrast.

White is the logical choice if your logo uses light or pastel colours, if the brand graphics include a lot of white space, or if the bag reaches the customer together with a packaged product in beauty, healthcare, or children's goods. Drawback: fingerprints, scuffs and fold marks are more visible on white paper, so transport and storage need to be handled carefully.

How a logo looks on brown kraft paper

Brown kraft is unbleached, with a visible fibre texture. Printing on it isn't "transparent" in the sense that the ink blends with the base: black stays black, but, for example, red becomes brick-red, blue turns darker and more muted, and yellow practically disappears on brown. That's why a single colour – black, dark brown, dark green or dark blue – combined with a simple, sufficiently bold logo design works best on brown paper.

Brown is chosen by cafés, bakeries, organic shops, craft producers and event organisers who want a "natural" visual signal. Practical bonus: dirt and scuffs are less noticeable on brown paper.

The price doesn't differ significantly between the white and brown version – it's determined by size, paper weight and quantity, not colour.

Sizes, paper weight and handles

70–80 g/m² paper suits lighter contents: brochures, a T-shirt, a small gift. 90–100 g/m² is chosen when the bag holds a glass bottle, canned goods or several items. There are two types of handles: twisted (round cord) look more presentable and are used for gift bags, while flat (paper ribbon) handles are more resistant to tearing and cheaper for large quantities.

Most common sizes: 25×11×32 cm – standard "gift" size; 32×12×40 cm – for A4 documents and catalogues; 34×20×35 cm and larger – for textiles, boxes and event sets.

Prices are indicative, excl. VAT and excl. artwork setup; the exact amount depends on quantity, number of colours and print area. At 500–1000 pcs, the price per piece drops noticeably.

Artwork and turnaround times

Please send your logo as vector graphics (.ai, .eps, .pdf, .svg), colours in CMYK or Pantone. If you only have a raster file, it needs to be 300 dpi at the actual print size. For brown paper, we recommend checking in advance how your brand colour will look – we can add a visualisation with your logo on the specific bag to the quote.

The standard turnaround for bags with printing is 6–10 business days (production 4–7 business days depending on quantity, plus delivery 2–3 days). If you also need stickers for packaging or cards for a set at the same time, we print those in-house at Kandavas iela 29A within 1–3 business days – see sticker printing and business cards and cards. Other products with logo printing can be found under promotional products.

Frequently asked questions

Can you print a white logo on brown kraft paper?

Not with standard printing – white ink doesn't cover evenly on unbleached paper. If your brand needs a white element, the most practical solution is a white bag with a colour logo, or a brown bag with a dark single-colour print.

What's the minimum order quantity?

For printed paper bags, the practical minimum is 100 pcs; catalogue prices are listed starting from this quantity. Smaller quantities are possible without printing, but the price per piece will be higher.

How many colours can be printed on a bag?

Standard printing is up to 2 colours. A full-colour image on kraft paper is only possible with a separate technology and a larger quantity – in that case we prepare a separate quote.

How do I choose between twisted and flat handles?

Twisted handles look more presentable and suit gifts and shops, while flat handles hold more weight better and are more practical for events with large quantities. The price difference within one size is usually a few cents.

How long does an order take?

Usually 6–10 business days from artwork approval. We look at urgent jobs separately – just mention your preferred date in the request.

Are the bags recyclable?

Yes, all kraft paper in our range is recyclable. Twisted handles are sometimes made of cord, so the fully "mono-material" option is the bag with flat paper handles.

Send your logo and approximate quantity to info@attaprint.lv, call +371 25776699 or message us on WhatsApp – within one business day we'll prepare a quote with prices per quantity, print size and turnaround time, with a visualisation on a white and brown bag for comparison if you'd like.
