Printed Rain Ponchos: A Guide for Events and Outdoor Work

How much do printed rain ponchos cost, what are the minimum quantities, lead times, and when is it better to choose a rain jacket or an umbrella instead. Specific models and prices.

Ziva disposable rain poncho with storage pouch

A printed rain poncho is the cheapest way to protect festival-goers or an outdoor work crew from the rain while still showing off your logo: disposable models in our catalogue start from EUR 0.29 per piece (excl. VAT), while ponchos in a compact pouch with a carabiner start from EUR 0.80. Production time with printing is usually 6–10 business days: 4–7 days for production and 2–3 days for delivery. You can also order smaller quantities, but the real price advantage kicks in from 100–500 pcs.

When a poncho is the right choice

A poncho is a disposable or semi-durable product — a thin plastic sheet with a hood, packed in a bag or pouch. It's not a substitute for proper workwear, but it works very well in three situations:

Ziva vienreizlietojamais lietusmētelis-pončo ar uzglabāšanas maisiņu
Ziva vienreizlietojamais lietusmētelis-pončo ar uzglabāšanas maisiņu
  • Outdoor events and festivals. If the forecast is unpredictable, 500–2,000 ponchos in a box backstage cost less than cancelling one part of the programme. A poncho with a logo on the back acts as walking advertising across the whole venue.
  • Sports competitions and races. At the finish line after a wet start, a poncho is more practical than a blanket and lighter than a towel.
  • Backup kit for service and installation teams. Tucked into a glove compartment or a toolbag, a pouch-packed poncho takes up about as much space as a tennis ball.

If someone will be wearing a poncho every day for several weeks, it's better to look at lightweight rain jackets instead — see below.

Printing options and sizes

Classic screen printing doesn't work on the thin poncho film — the material is too thin and heat-sensitive. That's why ponchos are printed using a digital sticker: a full-colour image is printed and applied to the back or chest area. This means the number of colours in your logo has practically no effect on price — you can use gradients, photos, and event sponsor blocks.

The Poncho Fog model offers a second option: printing on the round case using pad printing. If the poncho is handed out as a gift, the logo on the case stays visible even when the poncho isn't in use.

Recommended sizes

  • Back: the largest area, suitable for the event name and a row of sponsors.
  • Left chest: a small logo, roughly 110×90 mm, the same as in our apparel printing.
  • Case: one or two colours, a small area of around 40×30 mm.

Artwork needs to be vector graphics (.ai, .eps, .pdf, .svg) in CMYK colours; raster images at 300 dpi at actual size. Before production, we send the artwork for approval by email, and on request also a 3D preview with your logo.

How much to order and how to plan your timeline

For festivals, a common rule of thumb is 10–20% of expected attendance if rain is possible, and 30–50% if rain is almost certain. Unused ponchos don't spoil — they keep until next season as long as the boxes are stored dry.

Lead times with printing: production 4–7 business days depending on quantity, delivery 2–3 days, totalling 6–10 business days. During the summer season (June–August), we recommend placing your order at least three weeks before the event. Rush jobs can be arranged by agreement, but this needs to be discussed before the order is confirmed.

If your event also needs banners and roll-up banner stands or attendee stickers and passes at the same time, we produce those ourselves in Riga within 1–3 business days, so the schedule can be aligned with your poncho delivery.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a printed rain poncho cost?

Disposable models start from EUR 0.29 per piece (Ziva) and EUR 0.44 (Mayan, made from recycled plastic), while ponchos in a case with a carabiner start from EUR 0.80. Prices exclude VAT and the print set-up fee, which we list in the quote for each item.

What is the minimum quantity?

Technically we can order just a few pieces, but with printing it becomes economically worthwhile from 100 pcs. At 500 and 1,000 pcs, the price per piece keeps dropping — we lay out the exact steps in the quote.

How many colours can I use in my logo?

Ponchos are printed using a digital sticker, so the number of colours is unlimited and doesn't affect the price. Pad printing on the case usually uses one or two colours.

How long does an order take?

Usually 6–10 business days: 4–7 days for production and 2–3 days for delivery. Artwork approval by email is required beforehand.

Can a poncho be reused?

Ziva and Mayan are designed for one or a few uses. If the poncho will be used regularly, it's more economical to choose the Escocia lightweight rain jacket from EUR 9.56 or the Sitka rain coat for a team working outdoors over a longer period.

What files do I need to submit?

Vector graphics (.ai, .eps, .pdf, .svg) in CMYK colours, or a raster image at 300 dpi at actual size. If all you have is a logo in JPG format, we can redraw it in vector format for an extra fee.

Email us at info@attaprint.lv or call or message us on WhatsApp at +371 25776699 — tell us the quantity and event date, and within one business day we'll send you a quote in PDF format with product images, print placement, and lead time for each item.
