Magnetic Stickers for Cars and Fridges — Printing in Riga

Magnetic stickers are removable advertising — made from 0.6–0.85 mm thick magnetic vinyl, topped with a full-colour printed self-adhesive film and a protective laminate. Printing costs approximately EUR 18–24/m² excl. VAT (better value for larger areas; laminated printing approx. EUR 24/m²), contour cutting approximately EUR 8.00/m², with the magnetic base added on top; production usually takes 2–5 business days. Why magnetic stickers beat regular ones

The key difference — a magnet doesn't stick to the surface at all. You can take it off in five seconds and put it back the next day, whereas printed self-adhesive film can't be reused once removed.

Typical cases where Riga clients choose a magnet over self-adhesive film:

• A private car also used for work — advertising during work hours, clean doors at weekends.
• Leased or rented vehicles where applying self-adhesive film isn't allowed.
• Seasonal campaigns and events — the same car used for different promotions.

Materials and sizes

For car magnets we use a flexible magnetic sheet with a printed matte or glossy self-adhesive film. The matte version reflects less in the sun and better hides minor surface irregularities, while the glossy version gives richer colours. We add a UV laminate on top — without it, printing on a car fades within a year.

Standard sizes most commonly ordered:

• Car doors: 30×40 cm, 40×60 cm, 50×70 cm, 60×90 cm.
• Side panels and pickups: up to 100×200 cm (seamed from one sheet).
• Fridge: 50×70 mm, 70×100 mm, A6 (105×148 mm), A5.
• Custom shape — contour-cut magnets following a logo, car, coffee mug or any other silhouette.

We round the corners of car magnets with a 10–20 mm radius. Sharp 90-degree corners are the first spot where airflow starts peeling the magnet off while driving.

Pricing

The price of a magnetic sticker consists of two parts: printing and the magnetic base. The table below shows indicative items relevant to this product.

The magnetic base and laminating are charged separately — approximately EUR 30–40/m² depending on sheet thickness. Below are indicative prices for finished products to help with budget planning.

Prices are indicative and excl. VAT. The exact amount depends on size, quantity, cutting type and whether lamination is required. The minimum order value for printing jobs is EUR 20. You can view other price list items and services in the sticker printing and printing services sections.

Files and artwork requirements

The best option is vector artwork (.ai, .eps, .pdf) in CMYK colour space. If you only have a photo or a raster file, it should be at least 150 dpi at final size; for a car magnet, 100 dpi is usually sufficient, since it's viewed from several metres away.

Leave a 5 mm bleed and a 10 mm safe zone from the edge — don't place text or phone numbers right at the edge. If you don't have artwork, we'll prepare it from your logo; a simple car magnet design with company name, service and contact details takes 1–2 business days.

How large should the text be on a car magnet

On a 40×60 cm magnet, the phone number should be at least 40 mm high to be readable from 10–15 metres away. In practice, three things fit on one magnet: the company name or logo, one line about the service, and the phone number. No one can read more than that from a passing car.

Use and care

A magnet only holds on a clean, smooth, magnetic steel surface. It won't stay on aluminium doors, plastic bumpers, spoilers or glass — it's worth checking with a regular magnet before ordering.

Practical tips:

• Clean and dry both the car surface and the back of the magnet before applying.
• Remove the magnet at least once a week and wipe away any dust or moisture that has built up underneath.
• Don't wash the car with the magnet on — a high-pressure jet will lift it from the edge.
• At speeds above 110 km/h it's better to remove the magnet; for larger sizes, from 90 km/h already.
• In winter, if the magnet is frozen on, don't pull it off by force — pour warm water over it and remove it slowly.
• Store it flat or on metal, not folded — a fold leaves a permanent crease in the magnet.

With proper care, a laminated car magnet lasts 2–3 seasons in Latvian conditions; without lamination, colours start fading after the first summer.

The standard turnaround is 2–5 business days from artwork approval. For fridge magnets in large quantities (from 250 pcs), we agree on the turnaround separately. Rush jobs are possible by arrangement; we've produced a single car magnet in as little as two business days.

Frequently asked questions

Does a magnetic sticker damage car paint?

On intact factory paint — no. Risks arise in two cases: if sand and dirt get trapped under the magnet and scratch the surface, or if the magnet is placed on a freshly repainted surface (you should wait at least 30–60 days after repainting). That's why you should remove and clean the magnet regularly.

How much does one 40×60 cm car magnet cost?

Approximately EUR 22 excl. VAT per piece; ordering a pair or more brings it down to approximately EUR 17/pc. The price includes full-colour printing, lamination and rounded corners. We prepare an exact quote based on size and quantity.

Can you make a magnet in the shape of my logo?

Yes, contour cutting costs approximately EUR 8.00/m². You'll need a vector file with a cutting line, or at least a clear outline of the logo. Very fine details under 5 mm wide aren't durable in magnetic material, so we simplify the contour slightly.

What's the minimum quantity for fridge magnets?

We also work with 10–20 pieces, but the price per unit is then around EUR 3. It becomes more cost-effective from 100 pcs — from EUR 1.20/pc excl. VAT.

Will a magnet hold on a minibus side panel?

If the panel is steel and flat — yes. On panels with pronounced ribs or curves, the magnet only makes partial contact, and airflow will lift it at speed. In such cases, we recommend a smaller size or printed self-adhesive film instead.
