Price of Pens with Logo: Prices by Quantity and Printing Method
How much do printed pens cost? Indicative prices from EUR 0.55/pc at larger quantities, a comparison of printing methods and lead times in Latvia.

The price of pens with a logo in Latvia starts from around EUR 0.55 per piece (excl. VAT) — this is for a plastic ballpoint pen with single-colour pad printing at a quantity of 1000 pcs. For smaller quantities (50–100 pcs) the real price is EUR 0.90–1.60/pc, while aluminium models with laser engraving cost EUR 1.65–2.60/pc. On top of this there's usually a one-off set-up fee of EUR 15–25 per colour or per print position.
What makes up the price of a pen
The final price is made up of three parts: the pen itself (material and mechanism), the per-piece printing cost, and the one-off set-up. The larger the quantity, the less the set-up matters — on an order of 50 pcs, a EUR 20 print plate adds EUR 0.40 to each pen, but on an order of 1000 pcs it only adds EUR 0.02.

The second key factor is the number of colours. Each additional colour in pad printing or screen printing means a separate print plate and a separate printing pass. If the logo is multicoloured with gradients, digital printing is often cheaper and visually more accurate.
Indicative prices by quantity
The table below shows the full price per piece, including the pen and single-colour pad printing in one position. Set-up (print plate) is not included.
| Quantity | Plastic (Nash, Unix, Lucia) | Eco materials (Berk, Borneo, Midar) | Aluminium (Moneta, Ziguur) |

Printing methods and what each one offers
| Printing method | Price per pc (indicative) | Set-up | Best suited for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pad printing, 1 colour | EUR 0.15–0.30 | EUR 20–25 per colour | Simple logo, text, large quantities |
| Pad printing, 2 colours | EUR 0.30–0.55 | EUR 40–50 | Two-colour logo with clear edges |
| Screen printing on round surfaces | EUR 0.20–0.35 | EUR 20–25 | Wide bodies, dense colour layer |
| Digital printing (full colour) | EUR 0.35–0.70 | EUR 0–15 | Gradients, photos, multicolour logos |
| Laser engraving | EUR 0.20–0.45 | EUR 15–20 | Aluminium bodies, long-lasting result |
Laser engraving on aluminium produces a contrasting metallic tone that won't rub off — a practical solution for gift pens. Pad printing, on the other hand, is the cheapest option for mass quantities and works well on curved surfaces.

Minimum quantities and lead times
The realistic minimum quantity for pens is 50 pcs — below that, the set-up cost is spread over too few pieces and the per-unit price becomes unfavourable. If you need 10–20 pcs as a gift, it's more practical to choose an aluminium model with laser engraving, where the set-up cost is lower.
The standard lead time is 5–10 business days from artwork approval: some of this time goes into getting the product, the rest into printing and quality control. Urgent jobs are possible by arrangement, if the chosen model is in stock.
Files for printing
Please send your logo as vector graphics — .ai, .eps or .pdf, colours in CMYK or Pantone. Pad printing and laser engraving require a single-tone outline without effects; for small text on the pen body, the minimum letter height is approximately 1.5 mm to keep the print legible.
How to reduce costs
- One colour instead of two: saves EUR 40–50 on set-up and up to EUR 0.25 per piece.
- The same logo on several products in one order — the print plate gets reused.
- A larger quantity at once: going from 250 to 1000 pcs drops the per-piece price by around 25%.
- A body colour that matches the logo — a single-colour print on a coloured body often looks just as good as a two-colour version.
