Sunglasses with Logo for Events: UV Filter and Printing Areas
A guide to logo sunglasses for events: what UV400 and CE marking mean, the available printing areas and sizes, prices from EUR 0.53/pc and production times.

Sunglasses with a logo are one of the cheapest summer event giveaways – in our catalogue they start from EUR 0.53/pc (excl. VAT) at 100 pcs, and the logo is usually placed on the temple, in an area of roughly 45×8 mm. For an event organiser, the main thing to check is the UV filter: the sunglasses we offer have UV400 protection and CE marking in line with EN ISO 12312-1, and we send the technical data sheet or declaration of conformity on request. Production with printing usually takes 4–7 business days plus 2–3 days for delivery.
What UV400, CE and filter category actually mean
There are three things worth checking before ordering, and they are not the same thing:

- UV400 – the lens blocks ultraviolet radiation up to a wavelength of 400 nm, i.e. practically all UVA and UVB. This is the main protection indicator.
- CE marking and EN ISO 12312-1 – confirms that the sunglasses meet EU requirements for personal eye protection from the sun. The marking is usually on the inside of the temple or on the packaging.
- Filter category (0–4) – shows how much visible light the lens absorbs. This is not related to UV protection: even a light category 1 lens can be UV400.
| Category | Light absorption | Suitable for |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | 0–20% | Cloudy weather, decorative |
| 1 | 20–57% | Variable cloud cover |
| 2 | 57–82% | Moderately sunny weather |
| 3 | 82–92% | Bright summer sun, beach |
| 4 | 92–97% | Mountains, desert – not suitable for driving |
Most event-giveaway sunglasses are category 2 or 3. In our quote we state the exact category for each item, so you can include it in your procurement documents too.
Printing areas and technologies
Sunglasses offer a small surface, so the logo design needs to be simplified. In practice, we use two methods.
Pad printing
Suitable for the temples and the front of the frame. Colours are printed one at a time, so a 1–2 colour logo matched to Pantone is the most cost-effective option. Precise and resistant to abrasion.
Digital printing
Allows full-colour logos and gradients to be printed, even on a slightly curved surface. Useful when the logo is multi-coloured or includes photographic elements.
Approximate printing areas (the exact size is confirmed in the artwork proof for the specific model):
| Location | Approximate area | Technology |
|---|---|---|
| Temple (one side) | 45×8 mm | Pad printing, digital printing |
| Temple (both sides) | 2×45×8 mm | Pad printing |
| Front of frame above lenses | 35×5 mm | Pad printing |
| Lens | 25×15 mm | Digital printing |
We only recommend printing on the lens if the sunglasses are intended for a photo shoot or for spectator stands, not for actual all-day wear – the logo partly blocks the field of vision. A simple word or brand mark on the temple works better and doesn't affect the lens properties.
Examples from our catalogue
A few examples from our catalogue:

- Sun Ray rPET sunglasses – frame made from recycled material, 6 colours, pad printing or digital printing, from EUR 0.96/pc at 100 pcs.

How much it costs and how many pieces to order
We can also work with a single piece, but with printed sunglasses the real savings start from 100 pcs, since the setup fee (screen/clichй or file preparation) is spread across the whole batch. Below are indicative prices excl. VAT per piece with a single-colour logo on one temple:
| Model | 100 pcs | 250 pcs | 500 pcs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sun Ray sunglasses | from EUR 0.53 | lower | lower |
| Sun Ray rPET | from EUR 0.96 | lower | lower |
| Vision | from EUR 1.02 | lower | lower |
| Sun Ray two-tone | from EUR 1.47 | lower | lower |
The price per piece drops at larger quantities – we include the exact figures in the quote, as they vary depending on the number of colours and printing areas. You can browse the full range in the promotional products with logo section and in the complete catalogue.
Files, artwork and timelines
Please send your logo as vector graphics – .ai, .eps, .pdf or .svg, in CMYK or Pantone colours. We accept raster images at 300 dpi, but fine photographs don't work well on a 45×8 mm area; text below 5 pt is no longer legible.
The process is simple: you add the products to a request on our website or email us, we send a quote online and as a PDF within one business day, with product images, prices, the printing area, setup fee and lead time for each item. On request, we also add a 3D preview with your logo. The artwork needs to be approved by email, after which production takes 4–7 business days depending on quantity, plus 2–3 days for delivery. We can arrange urgent jobs by agreement – just mention your event date straight away in the request.
What else to add to a summer set
At events, sunglasses work well together with other summer items: the Solaris 130 g/m2 polyester sun cap from EUR 1.49/pc at 100 pcs, the Hera 175 g/m² sun cap from EUR 2.15/pc, or the Wicklow 240 g/m² Aware™ recycled sun hat from EUR 5.19/pc. If you're putting together a gift bag, add a lip balm and sunscreen – together with the sunglasses, the set comes in under EUR 3/pc. See the cap and hat selection in the caps and hats category.
FAQ
Do the cheap sunglasses from EUR 0.53 have a real UV filter?
Yes. The sunglasses offered in our catalogue have UV400 protection and CE marking in line with EN ISO 12312-1. The price is low because of large production volumes and the plastic frame, not due to a missing filter. We send the technical data and proof of conformity on request.
Where can the logo be placed on sunglasses?
The standard location is the temple – approximately 45×8 mm. Printing is also possible on both temples, on the front of the frame (approximately 35×5 mm), and on the lens (approximately 25×15 mm). The exact area is confirmed in the artwork proof for the specific model.
How many colours can be printed on sunglasses?
With pad printing, 1–2 colours matched to Pantone is the most cost-effective option. For multi-coloured logos, we use digital printing, which allows a full-colour image without extra charges per colour.
What is the minimum quantity?
Formally, we work from 1 piece, but with printing, a meaningful minimum is 100 pcs – at that point the setup fee no longer significantly affects the price per piece.
How long should I allow before the event?
Allow 6–10 business days from artwork approval: production takes 4–7 business days plus delivery of 2–3 days. If your event is sooner, let us know the date – we can speed up some items.
Can the sunglasses be ordered in a brand colour?
The Sun Ray model comes in 9 colour options, and the rPET and Vision models in 6 and 5 colours, so it's usually possible to find a shade that suits your brand. A custom frame colour is only possible for large quantities with a longer lead time.
