Printed Sports Kits: Floorball, Hockey, Football with Numbers
How to order printed team sports kits with numbers: a comparison of methods, approximate prices, sizes and lead times of 3–10 business days.

We usually prepare printed team sports kits in Riga within 5–10 business days, and we work from as little as 1 piece, though realistic team pricing starts from 10–15 shirts. As a rough guide, one polyester shirt with a number on the back, a name and a club logo costs approximately 14–22 EUR excl. VAT, depending on quantity and the number of print areas. Numbers and names are personalised, so we produce them using DTF or sublimation, while identical elements — logos, sponsors — are done in larger runs with screen printing, which works out cheaper.
What a team needs: the structure of a kit set
In practice, floorball, hockey and football teams most often order three things: a match shirt with a number, a warmer jacket or hoodie for away games, and a water bottle with a logo. Training shirt sets are usually made in two colours so teams can be split during training.

Only a uniform, smooth material is suitable for numbering. From our catalogue, teams most often choose:
- Bahrain 135 g/m² sports T-shirt (100% polyester) — men's, women's and kids' fit, up to 150 colours; convenient when a team includes both adults and young players.
- Montecarlo 150 g/m² sports T-shirt (polyester) — slightly denser, holds its shape better after repeated washing; available in men's and women's cuts.
- Imola 135 g/m² men's sports T-shirt (polyester) — a basic option for training sets.
- Indianapolis 140 g/m² unisex sports T-shirt (polyester) — useful when you don't want to split the order into men's and women's models.
- Niagara 145 g/m² women's cool-fit T-shirt (polyester) — breathable fabric for women's teams.
- Slam 100 g/m² women's sports T-shirt (polyester) — a lightweight option for the warm season and summer tournaments.
- Arora 300 g/m² unisex hoodie and Charon 240 g/m² unisex hoodie (cotton/polyester) — team outerwear with a logo on the chest and a number or name on the sleeve.
- 650 ml sports bottle (spout or push-pull cap) and 500 ml sports bottle — with 360° digital printing or screen printing for round surfaces; handy if each player needs their own numbered bottle.

DTF — the most practical choice for team numbers
DTF is a full-colour film transfer. Every number and name is unique, so it isn't economical to prepare screen printing stencils here. DTF withstands washing up to 40 °C and won't crack if the kit is not washed with fabric softener and the printed area is not ironed directly.
Sublimation — a lasting print, but with conditions
Sublimation bonds the colour into the fibre, so the print is not felt and won't peel off. It only works on light-coloured 100% polyester shirts — for example, Bahrain, Imola or Montecarlo in white and light shades. Sublimation is not possible on dark fabric.
Screen printing and embroidery
If a team needs 40 shirts with the same club logo and sponsor text, screen printing is the cheapest method — the price drops as the run grows. A combined approach is common: logo in screen printing, numbers in DTF. For hoodies and caps we recommend embroidery, as it looks better on thicker fabric.
Number and name sizes
- Back number: 25–30 cm high for adults, 18–22 cm for children.
- Front number: 10–15 cm, placed on the right side of the chest or centred.
- Player's name or surname: letter height 5–7 cm, above the number.
- Club logo: 8–12 cm wide on the chest.
- Sponsor: 15–20 cm wide on the back below the number or on the sleeve.
Floorball and football competition regulations often require the number to clearly contrast with the shirt and be readable from a distance. In practice this means: dark shirt — light number, light shirt — dark number, and preferably no thin, decorative fonts.
Files, sizes and the number list
Please send logos as vector graphics (.ai, .eps, .pdf) in CMYK colours. For numbers and names, an Excel file or a simple table is enough: size, number, name. This is the most important document in the whole order — if the list is accurate, the risk of errors is minimal.
We recommend checking sizes with sample shirts before placing a large order. Sports cuts are narrower than everyday T-shirts, so youth teams often need to go one size up. We can prepare samples by arrangement from our T-shirts category.
Lead times and pricing
A standard team order with numbers takes 5–10 business days from artwork approval. Even if you only need DTF numbers applied to shirts you already have, plan for 5–10 business days. Urgent jobs ahead of a tournament can be arranged by agreement, if the shirts are in stock.
| Quantity | Shirt + number + logo (approx.) |
|---|---|
| 1–9 pcs | from 22 EUR/pc |
| 10–19 pcs | from 18 EUR/pc |
| 20–49 pcs | from 15 EUR/pc |
| 50+ pcs | from 12 EUR/pc |
Prices are approximate, excl. VAT. If your team also needs sports bottles with a logo, these are quoted separately — from 5 EUR per piece for a run of 50 pcs.
Frequently asked questions
Can I order just one shirt with a number?
Yes, we also work with orders of 1 piece. For a single shirt we use DTF, as preparing screen printing stencils for a small quantity isn't cost-effective. As a guide, one shirt with a number and name costs from 22 EUR excl. VAT.
How long do DTF numbers last?
Washed at 30–40 °C and ironed from the inside, DTF print withstands 40–50 washes. For sports kits, this usually means a full season or two. Tumble drying shortens the print's lifespan.
Can we order one kit with different sizes and kids' models?
Yes. The Bahrain model comes in men's, women's and kids' versions in the same colour, so the team looks unified even if it includes players of different ages. We produce the numbers in a smaller size for kids' shirts.
What if a player changes during the season?
We can produce an individual shirt with a new number within 5–10 business days, provided the chosen model and colour are available. That's why we recommend ordering 2–3 spare shirts without a name in your first order.
Do I need a vector logo?
It's preferable. From an .ai, .eps or .pdf file we can produce sharp edges at any size. If you only have a JPG or PNG, we can redraw the logo in vector format — this costs approximately 20–40 EUR excl. VAT, depending on complexity.
