Logo Printing: Frequently Asked Questions — 25 Answers in One Place

25 answers about logo printing: files and formats, prices and quantities, turnaround times, stickers, posters, clothing printing and promotional products with logos.

Checking artwork and print samples at a computer with a colour chart

Most frequently asked questions about printing come down to three things: what files are needed, how much it will cost, and when it will be ready. The short answer — vector graphics (.ai, .eps, .pdf) in CMYK colour space, standard turnaround for stickers, banners and posters is 2–5 business days, for promotional products with printing 5–10 business days after artwork approval, and we also work with single pieces, while the price per unit drops with larger quantities (for example, screen printing in 1 colour starts at around 3.50 EUR/pc for a small batch, down to 1.50 EUR/pc from 250 pieces). Below we've gathered 25 specific answers that we give to customers every day at Kandavas iela 29A, Riga.

Files, artwork and colours

1. What file format should I send? The best option is vector graphics — .ai, .eps or .pdf with outlined curves. Raster images (.jpg, .png, .tif) work fine if the resolution is at least 300 dpi at actual size.

2. Why CMYK and not RGB? Printing is done in CMYK colours. If the file is in RGB, bright blues, greens and neon tones will print looking duller. We can convert it, but then the colour is no longer under your control.

3. Does text need to be converted to outlines? Yes, or include the font files. Otherwise the text may be substituted with a different font.

4. How big should the bleed be? 2–3 mm on each side for digital printing, 5 mm for large-format. Keep important elements at least 4 mm from the edge.

5. Can you create the artwork? Yes. Simple layout work from ready-made elements is usually included; design work from scratch is quoted separately based on the scope of work.

Prices and quantities

6. What is the minimum order quantity? For stickers, DTF printing, posters and mugs, we also work with 1 piece. Screen printing and embroidery involve setup costs, so for small quantities DTF is more cost-effective.

7. How does the price change with larger quantities? See the approximate pricing tiers in the table below — all prices are excl. VAT and approximate.

8. What is the setup fee? It covers the making of the print screens or the embroidery program: around 35.00 EUR for screen printing, 25.00 EUR for embroidery, 15.00 EUR for catalogues. For stickers, posters, business cards and DTF, setup is 0.00 EUR.

9. Does the price include the garment or the mug? No, the table only shows the printing price. You can bring your own item or choose one from our catalogue — then the quote will show both items separately.

10. Are the prices with VAT? All listed prices are excl. VAT and approximate; the exact amount depends on quantity, number of colours, print size and material. Full list available in the printing services section.

Turnaround times

11. How long do I have to wait? For stickers, banners and posters usually 2–5 business days, for promotional products with printing 5–10 business days after artwork approval. Stickers and posters are on the faster end, embroidery and large screen-printing runs on the longer end.

12. Is rush production possible? Yes, by agreement. Some jobs can be done in 2–3 business days if the material is in stock and the file is print-ready.

13. From what point does the turnaround time start counting? From the moment the artwork and order are approved, not from the first email.

14. Will I receive a sample? We always send a digital proof for approval. A physical sample for garment printing can be made for an additional fee if the quantity is large.

15. How does collection work? You can pick up from Kandavas iela 29A, Riga, or we can deliver by courier within Latvia; delivery costs are calculated based on weight and size.

Stickers, posters and banners

16. How is the sticker price calculated? Based on the total material area in square metres, not the number of pieces. 100 stickers at 5x5 cm equal 0.25 m², so small orders often hit the minimum processing amount — it's more cost-effective to print your whole year's supply at once. Material and shape options: stickers.

17. Matte or glossy vinyl? The price is the same (around 24.00 EUR/m² and up). Glossy gives more saturated colours, matte doesn't shine and looks better on equipment and packaging.

18. Can you cut to shape? Yes, contour cutting is around 8.00 EUR/m². The shape needs to be a vector line in the file.

19. How durable are outdoor materials? PVC banners and roll-up stands are designed for repeated use; A3–A0 posters are an indoor material. See banners and roll-up stands.

Clothing and promotional products

20. Screen printing, DTF or embroidery? Screen printing is cost-effective from 50 pieces with 1–2 colours, DTF suits small quantities and multi-colour designs, embroidery works well for polo shirts, caps and jackets where a durable and presentable solution is needed. Sublimation suits polyester sportswear and thermal mugs.

Frequently asked questions

21. Can you print on clothing I bring myself?

Yes. Please provide one sample in advance so we can check the material composition — some membranes and thin polyester fabrics can't withstand high temperatures. For items you bring yourself, responsibility for how the material reacts remains with the customer.

22. How many colours can be printed on a mug or a pen?

On ceramic mugs, a full-colour image, including photos, can be applied via sublimation. Pens and thermal mugs from our catalogue usually use 1–2 colour printing or engraving, depending on the surface.

23. Can a logo be printed on all the products shown in the catalogue?

On almost all of them, but the technique varies: tote bags and towels suit screen printing or embroidery, bottles and thermal flasks — printing around the body or engraving, notebooks — printing on the cover. Browse here: promotional products with logo.

24. What happens if I notice an error in the file after printing?

Before printing, we send the artwork for approval — that's the point to check the text, phone numbers and dates. After approval, a reprint is charged as a new order, so we recommend having at least two people review the artwork.

25. Do you issue invoices and work with municipalities and schools?

Yes. We work with Latvian companies, sports clubs, cafés, schools, municipalities and event organisers, and we issue invoices with a payment term along with any required supporting documents.
