Clothing Store Tags, Bags and Price Tags: A Practical Guide
How to prepare clothing store tags, paper bags and shop window stickers in a unified design: materials, sizes, quantities, approximate prices and turnaround times.

Clothing store tags are most commonly printed on 300–350 g/m² card in sizes 40×70 mm or 50×90 mm, with a hole for a string, from quantities of 100 pcs and with a production time of 2–3 business days. For the same design, we add price tags (cards 54×85 mm or stickers on rolls), shop window stickers made of transparent or white film, and packaging bags. If everything is ordered at once, the design is prepared only once and the colours match across all materials — this is the main reason we recommend a bundle rather than separate orders for shops.
Card tags: materials and sizes
The tag is the first thing a customer picks up, so material thickness matters more than the number of colours. Below 250 g/m², a tag quickly bends and looks cheap.
| Tag type | Material | Typical size | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard price tag | 300 g/m² matte card | 40×70 mm | 4 mm hole punch, string or fastener |
| Premium tag | 350 g/m² card, matte laminate | 50×90 mm | Scuff-resistant, suitable for higher-priced garments |
| Double (folded) tag | 300 g/m² | 70×100 mm open | Room for composition, care symbols, size chart |
| Die-cut tag | 300–350 g/m² | custom shape | Round, oval or logo-shaped |
| Composition and care sticker | PP film or paper | 30×40 mm | Applied to packaging or the back of the tag |
If a garment is made in Latvia or relabelled, the tag must show the fibre composition and care symbols. In practice, this is handled in two ways: printing it directly on the tag, or printing separate stickers with composition details and translations, applied on top of the original tag or packaging. The second option is cheaper if the product range changes frequently.
Price tags for shelves and shop windows
Shelf price tags are most commonly printed on 300 g/m² card in formats 54×85 mm, 74×105 mm (A7) or 105×148 mm (A6). We recommend printing sale tags with a blank space for writing the price with a marker — this way, a single print run can be used across several seasons. For shop window stickers ("-30%", opening hours, new collection), we use vinyl or transparent film with contour cutting; for stickers applied from the inside, we print in mirror image.
Packaging: paper and fabric bags
Two levels of bags work well for a clothing store in practice. Paper bags with a printed logo — for purchase packaging, and fabric bags from our catalogue — as a gift with a larger purchase or for sale at the till. We print fabric bags using screen printing (for large quantities, 1–3 colours) or DTF transfer (for small quantities and full-colour designs).
For paper bags, choose the size according to your actual product range: 320×420×120 mm for coats and knitwear, 260×350×100 mm for T-shirts and shirts, 180×250×80 mm for accessories. Single-colour printing on kraft paper is the cheapest option and looks good visually if the logo is in vector format with clear outlines.
Store branding beyond the shelf
Many shops order staff clothing and their own "merch" line right alongside tags and bags. The best-selling items are the simplest ones — cotton T-shirts and hoodies with a small logo on the chest (110×90 mm) or a larger print on the back (up to 280×210 mm).
For staff, polo shirts or T-shirts in two colours are usually chosen, with embroidery up to 90×90 mm on the chest — embroidery withstands frequent washing better than heat transfer. For more on techniques and placement: clothing printing.
Files, turnaround and approximate prices
We expect the design in vector format (.ai, .eps, .pdf, .svg), CMYK, with raster images at 300 dpi. For tags and price tags, add a 2 mm bleed and keep text at least 3 mm away from the cut line. If a tag needs a hole, mark its position in the artwork.

| Laminated card tags 50×90 mm | 500 pcs | from ~EUR 0.15/pc | 3 business days |

| Fabric bag with 1-colour screen printing | 100 pcs | from ~EUR 4.50/pc | 6–10 business days |
In-house print products — tags, price tags, stickers, posters — are ready in 1–3 business days. Promotional products and printed clothing usually take 6–10 business days (production 4–7 business days + delivery 2–3 days). Urgent jobs are handled by separate agreement.
Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum quantity for tags?
Technically, we can print as few as 50 pcs, but the cost per tag is then high, since the setup and cutting work stays the same. A practical starting point is 250–500 pcs per design; at 1000 pcs, the price per piece usually drops by almost half.
Does the tag need a hole and a string?
We punch the hole at the position you specify — this is a standard service. Strings, elastic loops or plastic fasteners are added on request; specify the colour and length, and we'll include it in the quote.
How do I add Latvian-language composition labels to imported clothing?
We print stickers on PP film, on rolls or sheets, showing the composition, care symbols and manufacturer details. The film sticker withstands moisture and doesn't tear when applied over the original tag or packaging.
Can you print tags, bags and shop window stickers with one design?
Yes, and it's more cost-effective. We prepare the artwork once for all materials, match the colours, and then apply the appropriate printing technique to each material so the logo tone looks as consistent as possible everywhere.
How long do I need to wait for price tags for a seasonal sale?
With ready artwork, we produce price tags and shop window stickers in 1–3 business days. If the sale starts on a specific date, send the files at least a week in advance to leave time for artwork approval.
Can I order just a few staff T-shirts?
Yes, we also work with quantities as low as 1 piece — for small quantities we use DTF transfer or embroidery. Screen printing becomes cost-effective from around 30–50 pcs in one colour and design.
Send your logo and product range list to info@attaprint.lv, call +371 25776699, or message us on WhatsApp at the same number — within one business day, we'll prepare a quote with prices, sizes and turnaround times for each item. You can view examples of our work in the our work section.
