IT company merch: hoodies, bottles, cables and notebooks

A practical guide to IT company merch sets: what developers actually use, specific products from the catalogue, budgets from 2 to 60 EUR/pcs and timelines.

Americano® 350 ml thermal mug

IT company merch generally falls into three budgets: conference giveaways at 1.50–3 EUR/pcs, an onboarding set for a new employee at 20–30 EUR/pcs, and a "premium" gift for senior developers or clients at 40–60 EUR/pcs (prices excl. VAT, at 100 pcs with logo printing). In practice, this means that for 2,500 EUR you can prepare around 100 onboarding sets with a hoodie, thermal mug, sticky notes and a pen — items developers genuinely use every day.

What IT teams actually wear and use

Based on our order experience with software development companies, only a handful of categories get reordered consistently: hoodies and sweatshirts, thermal mugs and bottles, sticky notes and notebooks, and tech gadgets (cables, adapters, power banks, trackers). Everything else — stamps, stress balls, keyrings — works well on a conference table but not in an onboarding box.

The key selection criterion isn't price but frequency of use. A hoodie with a discreet logo on the chest (110×90 mm) gets worn outside the office too; a hoodie with a huge logo on the back stays in the wardrobe. The thermal mug ends up at meetings and at the home desk. Sticky notes run out within two months, and that's fine — the employee just grabs the next pack from the office shelf.

Apparel: one model, two colours

IT teams usually do fine with one hoodie model in a dark and a light variant, since size distribution varies. The Urban 280 g/m² hoodie is a cotton-polyester blend available in 36 colours, from 11.49 EUR/pcs at 100 pcs excl. printing. For printing we recommend DTF transfer for quantities up to 50 pcs and screen printing from 50 pcs upwards, if the logo is in 1–2 colours. Embroidery (up to 90×90 mm) costs more, but looks better on a dark hoodie and won't peel off after 30 washes. For more on methods, see the apparel printing section and the hoodie category.

For remote teams, the MIYO two-layer lunch box and the Ida umbrella also work well — both items stay in daily use for years.

Cables, adapters and power banks

Tech items — USB cables, charging adapters, wireless chargers, power banks — are available in the tech category. Two things matter here: the print area is usually small (30–50 mm), so prepare your logo as a single-colour vector without fine detail; and most models require laser engraving or pad printing rather than full-colour printing. Instead of umbrellas and cables, teams that travel to conferences often go for a Chipolo POP tracker with the company logo in digital print.

Print materials for conferences

A stand needs three things: a roll-up banner stand 850×2000 mm, business cards and one A5 flyer with a QR code linking to job vacancies. We print business cards and flyers within 1–3 business days — see digital printing. Logo stickers (laptop stickers) remain one of the most cost-effective merch formats among developers: a die-cut vinyl sticker at 500 pcs costs just a few cents per piece, and it ends up on every laptop in the office.

Files, timelines and process

Send your logo as a vector file (.ai, .eps, .pdf, .svg), colours in CMYK or Pantone; raster images at 300 dpi. If you only have a PNG, we can redraw it as a vector for a separate fee.

Overall, printed promotional products take 6–10 business days. Our own in-house printing — stickers, business cards, posters — 1–3 business days. Rush jobs by arrangement.

How to plan merch for the year

The most practical model for an IT company with 50–200 employees: order hoodies and thermal mugs once a year in a larger batch (at 100 pcs the per-piece price is notably lower), and top up smaller items — sticky notes, pens, bags — every six months in batches of 250–500 pcs. Assemble onboarding boxes from warehouse stock; that way the new employee gets their set on day one, not two weeks later.

The remaining categories for building sets are listed in the promotional products section — the catalogue holds over 2,000 items with prices by quantity and colour.

Frequently asked questions

How much does an onboarding set cost per developer?

Roughly 22–30 EUR excl. VAT at 100 sets, if the set includes a hoodie, thermal mug, sticky notes, a pen and a drawstring bag. The exact price depends on quantity, number of printing colours and whether you use embroidery or screen printing.

Can you make 5 hoodies instead of 100?

Yes. The Urban hoodie is available from 1 pc (from 11.61 EUR/pcs), and DTF transfer is the most cost-effective method for small quantities, since there's no die cost. At 100 pcs the per-piece price drops and screen printing becomes economically justified.

Where's the best place for a logo on a hoodie?

Standard placements: left chest 110×90 mm, front or back up to 280×210 mm, sleeve 80×60 mm, embroidery up to 90×90 mm. IT teams most often choose a small logo on the chest or sleeve — that's the kind of apparel people also wear outside work.

Can we get a sample set before placing a large order?

Yes, we can produce a sample with your printing separately; its cost is higher than the batch price, since a set-up fee is included. Samples without printing can also be ordered one piece at a time.

What do we do with files if the logo is only in PNG?

We'll vectorise it. For screen printing, pad printing and laser engraving, a vector file is required; for digital and DTF printing, a raster file from 300 dpi is acceptable, provided the size matches the print area.

How long should we plan for a conference order?

Allow 10 business days from artwork approval: 4–7 days production plus 2–3 days delivery. If your conference is next week, just get in touch — some items (stickers, posters, roll-up stands) we produce in-house within 1–3 days.

Send us your employee count, budget per set and logo to info@attaprint.lv, call or message us on WhatsApp at +371 25776699 — we'll prepare a quote with product images, prices, print locations and timelines within one business day.
