Factory Labelling for Metalworking: Signage, Catalogues, Workwear

For a metalworking company (NACE 25.11 – manufacture of metal structures), factory labelling in practice falls into three parts: durable product and equipment stickers on PP film or vinyl, printed technical documentation (catalogues, data sheets, instructions), and workwear with your logo. We produce stickers and print jobs in 1–3 business days, and printed workwear usually in 6–10 business days. Roll stickers start at around EUR 0.04–0.12/pc at 1,000 pcs (excl. VAT, depending on size and material).

What's included in factory labelling for metalworking

On the shop floor and on finished products, you'll typically need several distinct labelling groups, each with its own material:

• Product plates and data stickers – serial number, weight, load data, production date, CE mark. Most commonly metallised or white polyester film with black print.
• Packaging labelling – pallets, boxes, profile bundles. A paper sticker or PP film is enough if the goods are stored in a covered warehouse.
• Safety and instruction stickers – warnings on equipment, lifting points, electrical markings. Laminated vinyl.
• Logistics and warehouse labelling – shelf numbering, zones, QR codes for stock tracking.
• Export translation stickers – if the product goes to another market, we add a sticker with translated composition or instructions on top.

We produce all these groups in sticker printing in sheets or rolls, with contour cutting if the shape isn't rectangular.

Materials: what survives the shop floor and what doesn't

In metalworking, a sticker comes into contact with oil, metal shavings, moisture and transport. A paper sticker won't stay on an oily surface – that's the most common reason labelling disappears before it reaches the customer.

Prices are indicative, excl. VAT; the exact price depends on run size, dimensions, number of colours and whether a laminated top layer is needed. At 5,000 pcs and above, the price per piece drops significantly.

Variable data

If each product needs a unique number or QR code, prepare an Excel file with data columns – we print with variable data in a single run, without separate artwork setup for each number.

Technical catalogues, data sheets and instructions

For a metal structure manufacturer, a printed catalogue still works well at trade shows and on-site presentations. In practice, three formats are usually ordered:

• A4 data sheet – single- or double-sided, 170 g/m² coated paper, from 100 pcs. Suitable for each profile or structure type separately, easy to update.
• A5 or A4 booklet – 8–24 pages, saddle-stitched. An overview of product groups with technical tables.
• Assembly instructions – black-and-white print on 90–120 g/m² paper, folded and placed in the box with the product.

All these jobs are handled by digital printing – meaning you can order 50 catalogues instead of 1,000, and update the content in the next version without extra setup costs. Business cards are usually ordered together with the catalogue, so the paper texture and colours match.

Workwear and uniforms with logo

Workwear on the shop floor and on site needs to withstand regular washing. In metalworking, embroidery on the left chest (up to 90×90 mm) is the most common choice – it doesn't crack or wear off after 40 washes. DTF transfer is cheaper and works well for back prints up to 280×210 mm, but we don't use it close to open flame or welding sparks.

Files and deadlines

We expect artwork in vector format (.ai, .eps, .pdf, .svg), CMYK; 300 dpi for raster images. If you only have a logo in JPG, let us know – we'll redraw it in vector.

Frequently asked questions

What kind of sticker stays on an oily metal surface?

No sticker will stay on freshly processed, oily metal – the surface needs to be wiped with alcohol first. After that, the best solution is polyester or metallised film with a strong acrylic adhesive; a plain paper sticker will peel off.

Do you produce serial number stickers with variable data?

Yes. Send us an Excel or CSV file with the numbers or QR code content, and we'll print them in a single run. The only extra charge is for data preparation, not per unique sticker.

How much does a workwear jacket or hoodie with embroidery cost?

The garment price plus embroidery production. For example, a hoodie from EUR 11.49/pc at 100 pcs plus embroidery of roughly EUR 2–4/pc depending on stitch count; the first order also includes a one-off programme setup fee.

Can I order a catalogue in a small run?

Yes, digital printing allows runs from 25–50 pcs. At 500 pcs and above, the price per copy drops by roughly half.

How long does a rush order take?

In urgent cases, we can produce stickers and posters within one business day by agreement. For printed products, urgency depends on stock availability – we check this while preparing the quote.

What does a quote look like?

Within one business day we send an online and PDF quote with product images, prices by quantity, print placement, setup fee and turnaround for each item. On request, we also add a 3D preview with your logo.
