3D preview with logo: how to see the product before production
A 3D preview with logo is a free visualisation we prepare within one business day together with your quote, so you can see the product with your logo before production.

A 3D preview with logo is a digital visualisation in which your logo is placed on the actual product, in the specific printing area and size — we prepare it on request at no extra charge, usually within one business day together with the price quote. This means you can see a mug, a T-shirt or a pen with your logo before confirming the order, and only then decide on the quantity. The artwork is approved by email, and we start production only after written approval.
What a 3D preview is and what it shows
A 3D preview is a photorealistic image or model of the product showing your logo in its actual size and colours. Unlike a simple catalogue photo, it shows how the design "sits" on a curved surface — the side of a mug, the cylinder of a bottle, the pocket of a backpack — and whether it crosses a seam or a handle.
Specifically, a 3D preview lets you assess:
- the print area — whether the logo sits centred, on the left chest, or on the sleeve;
- size in proportion — 110×90 mm on the chest looks completely different from 280×210 mm on the back;
- colour contrast — whether a light logo is readable on dark fabric and vice versa;
- minimum text height — whether a small slogan will actually be legible once printed;
- product colour choice — we can show the same logo on 2–3 different product colours.
How a 3D preview differs from a print artwork file
A print artwork file is the technical file for production: vector graphics, CMYK or Pantone colours, precise millimetres. A 3D preview is a visual confirmation for the customer. Usually the client sees the 3D preview first, approves the layout, and only then we prepare the production file — screens for screen printing, an embroidery program, or a DTF file.
How to request a 3D preview
The process is simple and requires no preparation from the client other than the logo file.
- Choose products in our catalogue and add them to a request on the website, or simply email info@attaprint.lv.
- Specify the quantity, the preferred print area, and that you'd like a 3D preview.
- Send your logo in vector format (.ai, .eps, .pdf, .svg).
- Within one business day you'll receive a quote online and in PDF, with product photos, prices, print area, set-up fee and lead time for each item; the 3D preview is attached to the selected items.
- If changes are needed — a different size, a different position, a different product colour — we redo it and send it again.
What files you need for a good 3D preview
The visualisation is only as accurate as the logo file behind it. If we receive a logo as a website screenshot, it will look blurry in the 3D preview, and afterwards it won't be clear whether the issue is the file or the printing itself.
| File | Suitable for | Result in the 3D preview |
|---|---|---|
| .ai, .eps, .svg (vector) | all printing methods | sharp outlines, accurate colours |
| .pdf with vector content | printing, screen printing, embroidery | same as vector |
| .png with transparent background, 300 dpi | DTF, sublimation, full-colour | acceptable, if size is sufficient |
| .jpg from a website or social media | for a rough preview only | blurred edges, inaccurate colours |
For raster images we require 300 dpi at the actual print size, and CMYK for printing. If the logo only exists as a low-quality image, we can redraw it in vector format; this is agreed separately before preparing the 3D preview.
How much it costs and how it affects the total price
The 3D preview itself for promotional products and garment printing comes at no extra charge — it's part of preparing the quote. We only charge separately for production set-up, where that technically applies, and these figures are shown in the quote for each item.
| Printing method | Set-up (one-off) | Price per piece |
|---|---|---|
| Screen printing, 1 colour, 1 position | EUR 35.00 | from EUR 3.50; from 100 pcs EUR 1.90; from 250 pcs EUR 1.50 |
| DTF transfer up to A4 | EUR 0.00 | from EUR 6.00; from 50 pcs EUR 4.20 |
| Embroidery up to 10,000 stitches | EUR 25.00 | from EUR 5.50; from 50 pcs EUR 3.80 |
| Catalogue A4, 8 pages, 170 g | EUR 15.00 | from EUR 3.50; from 250 pcs EUR 1.90 |
Prices are excl. VAT and indicative — the exact amount depends on quantity, number of colours and print area. The set-up fee is one-off, so for repeat orders with the same artwork it usually doesn't apply again.
When you don't need a 3D preview
For your own print products — stickers, business cards, posters, PVC banners — a 3D preview usually doesn't add much, since a regular artwork PDF at actual size with cutting lines is enough. We use visualisation in these cases only when the product is applied to a specific object: stickers on packaging, window graphics, facade plates.
A 3D preview also doesn't replace a physical sample. If the exact fabric colour, embroidery thread shade or mug handle shape is critical, we recommend ordering one test piece before a large run — we also work with orders of just 1 piece.
Lead times after artwork approval
The 3D preview is one of two time points that determine the final deadline. The other is your approval by email — the production lead time starts counting from that point.
- Quote and 3D preview: 1 business day from the request.
- Your own print products (stickers, business cards, posters): 1–3 business days.
- Promotional products with logo: production 4–7 business days depending on quantity + delivery 2–3 days, usually 6–10 business days in total.
- Urgent jobs — by separate agreement.
In practice, the biggest delays happen not in production but during artwork approval. If your event date is fixed, we recommend allowing at least two weeks and requesting the 3D preview right away, not after the quantity has already been decided.
Frequently asked questions
Does a 3D preview cost extra?
No. For promotional products and garment printing, we prepare a visualisation with your logo free of charge together with the quote. We only charge separately for production set-up — for example, EUR 35.00 for screen printing or EUR 25.00 for embroidery (excl. VAT) — and this is a one-off fee.
How long do I have to wait for a 3D preview?
Usually one business day from the moment we've received the product list, quantity and logo file. If there are many items or the logo needs to be redrawn in vector format, we'll let you know the new deadline straight away.
In what format should I send the logo?
Preferably in vector format: .ai, .eps, .pdf or .svg. Raster images need to be 300 dpi at the actual print size, CMYK for printing. A social media image can be used for a rough preview, but not as a production file.
Will the colour shown in the 3D preview match exactly what's on the product?
Not always precisely. Screens display RGB, printing works in CMYK or Pantone, and fabric, ceramic or metal all reproduce colour differently. For critical corporate colours, specify the Pantone code, and if the tolerance is tight, order one test piece.
Can I see several variants?
Yes. We often prepare the same logo on 2–3 product colours or in two print positions for comparison. There's no limit on the number of revisions by cost, only by time.
Is the 3D preview a binding document?
For production, we follow the artwork approved by email. The 3D preview helps with the decision, but the final reference point is the approved print file with dimensions and colours — we always send that before production.
Send your logo and product list to info@attaprint.lv, call us, or message us on WhatsApp at +371 25776699 — we'll prepare a quote with prices and a 3D preview within one business day.
