Law Firm Printing: Folders, Business Cards, Pens

A guide to printing for law firms and legal offices: business cards, document folders, forms and pens with a logo, plus guide prices and turnaround times.

Law firm printing: folders, business cards, pens

Printing for a law firm usually comes down to three essentials: business cards (250–350 g paper, print runs from 100 pcs), A4 document folders with a pocket and logo, and pens with a printed logo. Our own print products — business cards, forms, stickers, posters — are ready in 1–3 business days, while promotional products with a logo typically take 6–10 business days (4–7 days production + 2–3 days delivery). We send a quote with prices, print area and turnaround within one business day.

What a typical law firm set usually includes

In legal practice, printed materials serve two purposes: documents reach the client in a well-organised form, and the firm is remembered without looking like an advert. That's why a conservative design — one or two corporate tones, clean typography, plenty of white space — works better than bold, flashy solutions.

A typical order with us looks like this:

  • business cards for partners and lawyers, 100–500 pcs per name;
  • A4 folders for handing over contracts and opinions to clients;
  • forms (letterheads) with logo, company details and a space for a stamp;
  • pens with a logo for signing documents and as gifts;
  • notebooks or notepads for consultations and seminars;
  • stickers for sealing envelopes, labelling folders or numbering case files;
  • a conference bag or folder for events and training sessions.

Business cards: paper, finish, print runs

The standard format is 90×50 mm; 85×55 mm is also common. For the legal sector, we usually recommend 300–350 g uncoated or matte-coated paper: it doesn't reflect light, you can write a case number on it, and it feels substantial. Glossy lamination rarely suits this sector — matte lamination or no lamination at all looks more appropriate.

If you want an accent, it could be a spot UV element on the logo or a coloured edge. Double-sided printing is almost essential if the firm works with foreign clients: one side in Latvian, the other in English. For more on formats and paper types, see our business cards section.

How many to print

Digital printing allows runs from 1 pc, so small quantities aren't penalised. In practice, 100 pcs is enough for a junior lawyer for half a year, while 500 pcs suits a partner who regularly attends conferences. If contact details are likely to change, it's better to print smaller batches more often.

Folders, forms and other office printing

An A4 document folder with an inner pocket is the most requested item after business cards. We print it on 300–350 g card, then fold and die-cut it to shape; a matte lamination on the surface protects against fingerprints. Leave an unlaminated strip for a stamp or a handwritten case note.

Forms are printed on 90–120 g offset paper; one or two colours are usually enough, as the text itself is mostly printed in-office afterwards. We also produce seminar invitations, client greeting cards and training certificates via digital printing, even in small runs. Stickers — paper or metallised, round or cut to shape — work well for envelopes and folder labelling.

Pens and writing instruments with a logo

In a law firm, a pen is a working tool, not a souvenir — it's used to sign contracts in person. That's why it's best to choose a metal or combined-material body with blue or black ink, a dark colour (black, dark blue, grey) and laser engraving or single-colour screen printing on the clip or body. Pad printing allows a two-colour logo if the brand requires it.

A realistic volume for an office with 10–20 employees is 100–250 pens a year: some stay in meeting rooms, others leave with clients. You can browse models and prices by quantity in the pens category, or see the full range under promotional products.

Files, approval and turnaround times

Please send your logo and design as vector files (.ai, .eps, .pdf, .svg), with colours in CMYK or specified as Pantone; raster images should be 300 dpi at actual size. Allow a 2–3 mm bleed on print files and keep text at least 4 mm from the edge.

Within one business day of your request, we send an online quote and a PDF with product images, prices, print area, setup fee and turnaround for each item; on request, we can prepare a 3D preview with your logo. The artwork must be approved by email before production starts. Our own print products are ready in 1–3 business days, promotional products with printing in 6–10 business days; urgent jobs can be arranged by agreement.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to get business cards and folders?

Business cards and other items we print in-house are usually ready in 1–3 business days after artwork approval. Folders with lamination and die-cutting can take 3–5 business days depending on the print run.

Can I order business cards for just one lawyer separately?

Yes. Digital printing works from 1 piece, so we often print 100 pcs per name within a single order — the combined volume lowers the price per piece.

Which print finish looks more conservative on pens?

For a metal body — laser engraving, where the logo stays in the metal's tone. For a plastic body — single-colour pad printing or screen printing. Two-colour and full-colour options are rarely used in the legal sector.

Can you make folders with a slot for a business card?

Yes, the inner pocket can include a die-cut slot for a business card. We note this in the artwork before preparing the die-cutting template, so please mention it in your request.

How do I work out how much to print?

Forms and stickers become cheaper per piece in larger runs, since the unit price drops quickly. Business cards with personal details are best printed in smaller batches, as contact details change more often than brand elements.

Can you put together a complete set for the whole office?

Yes. The most common option is business cards, an A4 folder, a form, a notebook and a pen in a single quote, with a matching paper tone and logo size on every item.

Send us your logo and approximate quantities at info@attaprint.lv, call us or message us on WhatsApp at +371 25776699 — we'll prepare a quote with prices, print areas and turnaround times within one business day.
